Forums - Nintendo - Pokemon Company: Let's Go sold 3 million in first 3 days

People were sceptical that it had even hit two million WW after Japan+UK numbers were out, so this is a pleasant surprise.
It's doing very well, but I wonder how the Breakdown is. Probably very good numbers in France and Germany and gangbunsters in the US.

I thought this was not going to be a mainline game, but surprisingly has much more in common with main games than other spin offs or Pokémon Go. I had zero interest in this game, but now I'd give it a spin - especially since many have said it's geared towards fans of R/B/Y.

Now, to get a Switch at some point... I've sworn I'm not jumping on board before MP4 comes out. (I have previously been burnt twice with Wii and Wii U, so Switch became the first Nintendo system I didn't buy on launch since SNES).

Oh the legs it's going to have

Either the third quarter report will be an interesting one as the are two possible 10m sellers with a potential third releasing in NSMB in January. If PLG and Smash hit 10 that would be 5 10m sellers in under two years, Splatoon 2 is likely to eventually cross that mark LT as is NSMB.

As much as I like my Mario platformers, NSMB is probably the one with the least chances to manage accomplishing that feat. I actually think it won't even reach 3M-5M unless Nintendo heavily bundles it.

I knew it was gonna sell well.... because of how many mobile phone users seem to play Pokemon Go.
I just assumed the "core" pokemon fan wouldnt enjoy "lets go" as much as previous titles.

its got a 81 metascore, and while thats slightly lower than past entries its not by that much.
So I guess I was kinda right? but not hugely so.

Also in that thread I put Fallout 76, also as a option.
Why? because I had serious doubts about that too, even way back then.

Fallout 76 was like the no-brainer of this season, even back at E3 when they announced it's always online component, red flags were already raised.

People thought the same with MK8D and some other games I'd even say NSMU has got a better chance than all the other games it'll reach 3-5m easily.

Just checked what Pokemon X/Y and Sun/Moon did in comparison"

X/Y - 4,188,339
Sun/Moon w/o Europe: 3,735,759
Sun/Moon w/ Europe: 5,188,415

If a spinoff can pull off 3 million in the opening weekend like Let's Go did, just think about how Gen 8 will perform when it comes out.

I don't know why buns organize in gangs, but they must be terrifying.

Anyways, the sales probably are gigantic in the US. How much of that is Ryan Reynolds fault?

Will people trash gamestops when they can't return the game after they find out Pikachu isn't Deadpool?

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [GTA6]

It's selling well already, but I expect to have much better legs than a normal Pokemon game. Some of those Pokemon Go fans are going to come over.

Every NSMB game has great sales, and NSMBU is probably best one, NSMBU on Switch is almost certain at least 5m+ seller.

Oh no guys! Bralod says it feels like a f2p mobile game! Better save our money for 2019! He must have spent hours in the game already to make this conclusion.

Not that the 81 meta score it had matters or anything.

I don' need to spends hours on this cash grab to know what it is, really.

This is Pokemon Go.
