I think their (ID) engines are optimized for compact environments with little interaction and would require massive modifications to work in an open world setting. But they may as well make more use of the expertise of one of the oldest, still relevant developers in the industry today. ID are credited with a slew of technical breakthroughs and firsts, after all.
Ah, you might be right that id Tech is too limited in usage. But yes, id has a good reputation, and I think they would really like the task to expand the id tech engine for open world usage.
Isn’t Rage 2 open world and running on id Tech already?

In either case, it should be possible to work the id tech engine towards a point it is viable for Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Its running on avalanche’s apex engine, not id tech.
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
PS4 performance with heavy guns..... is not great. XB1s performance with even just a handgun.... isnt great.
XB1X they only show in the area it before had issues (but its not a consistance issue for any systems so why even bother?). Also even if it runs like crap on all systems, its like Digital foundry choose to showcase the PS4 for it.... DF has slight XB preferance imo. (ever since MS gave them that xb1x scoop, they've been alot more pro xbox)

Since the PS4 has sold more units, it stands to reason that more people will be interested to see how the game runs on the PS4.
What I mean is like.... if something is equally bad on Xb, they ll choose to show it on PS4 instead. Its not about the console base, its about if you have to pick something to look bad, it ll be the PS4 instead, while the reverse is probably true for xb.
I wont call it biased but they seem like they prefer XB.

No, it's likely as Rol said. There are more ps4 owners out there than xbox owners so showing what it looks like on ps4 will be beneficial to more people.
Not like there is much of a difference between the two anyway. But cater to the larger crowd. If anything it is them favoring the ps4 by showing how it performs on it more than the xbox.

But they showed off the PS4 way worse than the XB1s? Even if that probably has parts that run just as bad or worse? I dont know how showing more footage of something running bad would be considered favortism.
I just notice they love to do that, to me it seems like they prefer xbox because of it. Anyways crappy game is crappy... and hopefully alot of PS4 owners see this video and decide to skip it, and get a better game instead.

We know that Eurogamer and DF are quite Xbox friendly when we see how much they put emphasis on the better performance of X360 multiplats, minimized PS4 advantage against X1 (which were much bigger than X360 to PS3) and then got back to valuing this when X1X launched.
