I'm even more suspicious of the reviews after playing the game for a few hours. I got the game as a surprise present today, and am playing through. The game itself is much better than I was expecting, but there's something that makes me very worried for next year's games; the frame rate is atrocious, somehow even worse than on the 3DS. The game runs at an unstable 20-30fps and stutters heavily in any area with much going on. It stuttered so badly (definitely under 10fps) in Viridian Forest that I thought my Switch was dying.

Game Freak are terrible devs and they really need to bring in a lot of new expertise or get help from another dev to make next years games or they're going to fall far short of what they could be.

It's much better than I thought it would be, but technical issues like this were already unforgivable on the 3DS, to get even worse on the switch is astounding. It deserves between 70-75/100

Tbh i have yet to notice any big framedrops.

Should have noted this was in handheld. It runs decently in docked mode, with a bit of slowdown,   but nothing deal breaking.

I haven't seen any slowdown in handheld yet. Although I've played very little in handheld.

Having a really good time with it so far. I've been switching off between the joy con and the pokeball. Most immersive way to play is with the Pokeball but the best way to play as far as functionality though is Joy Cons. With the Pokeball you don't have access to other buttons like Y and such which allow u to go into options menu and Pokebox. So I've started playing a bit with Joy con more, but its still so satisfying throwing your pokeball and hearing the pokemon in your pokeball accessory xD

Shake the pokeball for ‘Y’.

Any words on the pokébank and let's go?

My last pokémon game was silver, so i'm looking to build a new pokédex before the main game next year.

Reviews are pretty fair. The complaints from the bigger Pokemon fans are just people whining that something is being made that isn't for them.

Did 2 gyms. I might take Pikachu out of my team because of how easy it is to use him or not have him as my startrr.

So no game has faults then, and if you think one does that only means the game isn't for you. Yeah that's totally reasonable... not!
