#40 - Even though Ka-pi96 absolutely loves such games, he won't play this one due to his bias. I suppose this makes people figure that it is a Nintendo game, but oh well. Hint 2: Nintendo fans complained a lot about the cast, because origins and bestsellers were prioritized. 

#39 - A Nintendo game about saving a damsel in distress. Hint 2: The girl in need has to eat beast flesh of 12 masters. 

#38 - A beloved platformer about monkeys and conquest. Hint 2: Rare loves puns. 

#37 - The most overrated game of all time until a successor to the same series released in March 2017 and took its place. Hint 2: You really need another hint for this one? SMH 

#36 - Originally believed to be a sequel (or rather a prequel), but later recognized as its own IP. Hint 2: The protagonist of this game was first met in a SNES launch title. 

#40 - Fire Emblem Warriors? (glad I read the second clue)

#39 - Packaged in a black box, thus standing out from the rest of the console's library. Hint 4: Part of Operation Rainfall.

I think that's Armello. I've had it on my Steam wishlist for ages.

 

Anyway, here are hints for the next few games on my list as well:

#40: Introduced a charge shot mechanic to this classic 2D action platforming franchise.

#39: From the madhouse in the first game to the city proper in this one.

#38: Haystacks shouldn't provide quite as much of a safety net as they do in this franchise. This is the second game in it.

a) The european version of the game (which I played) had a completely different name.
b) You can kill yourself with your own attack if you not careful.
c) The whole series and it's gameplay revolves around the weapon used, which is kinda tricky to work with.
d) You can upgrade your weapons with more reach and number, which makes it even more likely to accidentaly kill yourself.
e) Play with up to five players on one PC - it get's quite crowded on the keyboard.
