I saw a thread that 70% of Switch owners own a PS4 and XBO yeah(if that's what you're referring to), but what do you mean exactly with that post?

Of course, 70 percent of Switch owners can play RDR 2😋

Every Turn-Based game that's already been released on Switch is either a port, is multi-platform, or is very low-budget (give me mid-tier). |
Alright, this makes your taste even more specific. You're not the easiest customer, you know.
Considering N64 and Gamecube had about 250 games each released in Europe, and Switch supports all software via download and region free, this means in about a year and a half Switch has about doubled Gamecube and N64's combined lifetime software list.
In addition, the average quality of the 1000 software is noticeably higher than Gamecube and N64. Don't get me wrong, the N64 and Gamecube had its Goldeneye 007s, it's Ocarina of Times, and Banjo Kazooies, but the bulk of the libraries consisted of cheap ports of PS2's most uninspired games: bland sports titles, bad license games, and barely any RPGs between them.

PSX ran a "Now with over 200 games" and "Now with over 500 games" sorts of campaigns when the console was at its hottest.

That creates an even bigger mystery: Why was that article titled that then? I mean sure, I guess the phrase "something for everyone" is neat ... the trailer really didn't showcase the library as a whole, though? |
Well they cant show 1000+ games in trailer..

It's titled as such due to the youtube video having "With over a thousand games on Nintendo Switch, there’s a game for every gathering. Visit Nintendo.com to learn more!" in the description |
Yeah, this.

By the way, I just realized the irony in you saying this considering it doesn't show Splatoon 2, Breath of the Wild, or Mario Odyssey, it even shows LABO over those titles(which certainly hasn't sold as much), and in fact games like Pokemon Let's Go and Smash aren't even released yet .... I get your point, but a better answer would have been "The commercial is about party games, not the library, and so the article is not titled well" |
To be fair pushing Labo for upcoming Holiday season for family/kids market has plenty sense.

Hmm, as this genre is very niche: do you play anything at all? I think only Persona has a higher budget, so only persona? EDIT: Too be precise, octopath traveler is here the one with higher budget obviously. This game shows off a lot of work, which means money that was poured into the project. |
Octopath Traveler is basically 2D. It doesn't get much lower budget than that.
Recent mid-tier games I've bought are Persona 5, Trails of Cold Steel 1&2, Dragon Quest 11, and Valkyria Chronicles 4.
I'm not proud of this, but I do play some Compile Heart games. That's about as low-budget as I'm willing to go. If a game in 2018 can't even bother to get into the 3rd dimension, I'm out.
