I don't get something, you can't save offline or on something on NS? I've never worried about save files on my ps4 or 3 because of the HDD but I don't use PSPlus so I don't know how cloud storage works there

I am gone for a day and this is what happens? *sigh*

Why is the title saying the exact opposite of the OP?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Because it was a misleading thread to begin with, so Super_Boom just changed the title after continuous user requests.
Not sure if the OP was moderated or not, when I did this many moons ago I got a warning for making a misleading title.

That's real clever to change the title but not the actual content of the first post.

To be fair though, OP seemed to have a legitimate source which got it wrong. Then again, he never posted a link to that source so he might as well just made it up or took it from someone unreliable.

The link is there, just slightly hidden:
https://www.gamerevolution.com/news/432059-nintendo-switch-online-cloud-saves-are-deleted-when-your-subscription-expires

The UK site does mention this, so I that's where this news comes from:

After my Nintendo Switch Online subscription expires, will my Save Data Cloud files and Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online save data be erased?
Save data stored with Save Data Cloud cannot be kept outside of the duration of your Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online also uses the Save Data Cloud, so the same applies. However, if you keep the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online save data saved locally on your Nintendo Switch console, then you can use it again if you purchase another membership.

https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Nintendo-Switch/Nintendo-Switch-Online/FAQ-1374625.html

The US does give some additional info:

Is my save data retained if I cancel my Nintendo Switch Online membership?
We are unable to guarantee that cloud save data will be retained after an extended period of time from when your membership is ended. However, you can continue to use the save data that is saved to your system memory.

I will give the OP the benefit of the doubt since the first info released plus speculation would result in the article shared, but he can still update his thread with the latest info if he wishes to do so.

This is why the OP made the thread:

From Nintendo:

"Save data stored with Save Data Cloud cannot be kept outside of the duration of your Nintendo Switch Online membership. Thats pretty damn clear imo, no mention of any grace periode at all.

We ll have to see how things play out, maybe the american page is right, maybe its wrong, but so far nintendo themselves have contradicted themselves saying 2 differnt things on 2 pages.

Why are you reiterating my post? All the info you stated I already did so above.

So what am I supposed to be upset about?

If I stop paying for a payed service the paid service stops. Sounds about right to me.

Is it something else I’m missing?
