Great numbers but what would really be impressive is if the WII ships 1 billion in software like the PS2 which still puts up decent numbers 8 yrs since launch, we shall see I guess.

Including the data from either of these titles in software attachment is misleading imo. Wii Sports is bundled except in the main markets except Japan. Wii Play is a controller.

Wii Sports is not, Wii Play is.
But considering the attach ratio of Wii SPorts in Japan, I think it is fair game to assume that it would have sold a few million in the other two regions, thus making up for any Wii Play sales you feel don't count because the game is cheap (I hope you realise cheap games are included in the attach ratios of other consoles too)

never knew the GC attachcrate was so big, but hen looking at my games collection for it i prob have around 40 games for it , where as for Wii i only have about 12

Attach rates are meaningless. I think PS2 had a lower attach rate than wii (I will check that). That just means that the users of a hardware bought lots of games. Period. That doesn't mean success.

GBA hardly gained and looks like it will not reach SNES totals.
DS jumps into first place and will have another 150m software year coming up (conservatively).
Wii and DS will hit 1 billion games shipped combined sometime this year.
