Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why is FIFA the sports game that EA puts on the Switch?

I'm curious on a more logical level: FIFA is most popular in Europe where Nintendo is weakest and it doesn't sell particularly well in Japan or as well in NA.

Is FIFA just easier to place around due to team size?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Soccer is popular everywhere while football & basketball are pretty USA dominant.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Maybe because of FIFAs popularity in Europe Nintendo made the request to help sales.

Despite what you are saying FIFA will still be more profitable than Madden or NHL would be

Because FIFA (probably) sells more than every other sports game put together.

Yep, that's it. Including Ultimate team Fifa is bringing in about 50% of EAs income alone

Because football is the best sport.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I think the point is that they are trying to get more European fans by having FIFA.

Because football is the most popular sport in the world (no matter how boring it is to watch (I’ll give it that it’s pretty fun to play with a group of friends on a day off))

Football.

Real football, that is, is by far the most popular sport in the world.

That's why.
