Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario Tennis Aces Opencritic/Metacritic thread. (79 Opencritic)/(77 Metacritic)

"Days after the credits rolled, I still crave the satisfying thwack from a Power Shot, and I mentally replay matches and imagine how I might do things differently given a bit more focus and knowhow. Mario Tennis Aces does what this series has done best, and improves what it's rarely gotten right prior. Fingers crossed that the online support stands up to the rest of the game after launch."

GameSpot seems to nail how I was planning on playing this game. The adventure mode as an advanced tutorial and then a hardcore multiplayer game.

Seems Nintendo botched the local multiplayer (no stage select? Wtf) but hopefully the online is up to par (I can't believe I have to hope for this, but I hope I can play against friends).

The game will be good if its a step above ultra and saves stats.

Baffling. Absolutely baffling. But also the kind of thing that can be rectified with a patch.

Seems like a solid offer as I'm pretty sure most who played the demo already knew. I don't see online play mentioned much. Was that not available for the review period?

I'm not very happy with those scores. I guess it's mediocre for a Nintendo game. I'm thinking of getting this to play with my daughter.

Edit: I feel like I say that about a lot of Nintendo games these days. I get them so I can play them with my family. Odd... Maybe it's because my childhood memories are playing Nintendo games.

Can't get a read on those reviews. It seems nobody has even tried to turn off the new mechanics in favor of a more simple play. I guess I'll see soon enough how good the single player actually is.

Just what I was thinking. I'm sure that if the demand is great enough, Nintendo will at least listen.

I'm curious to see how well this will sell. Kirby managed to hit 1 million after 7 or 8 weeks. I wonder if this game can do the same.

Solid score for Mario Tennis game, for comparision Mario Tennis for Wii U has 58 metascore score.
