Forums - Sales - Xbox One at 39.1 million sold as of March 31st 2018 (IHS Markit Research)

Ok..  interesting..

Does anyone here know who are this IHS people and what is their track record?

The Xbox One will end up selling around N64 numbers WW which is respectable considering how awful the entire brand and platform was out of the gates.

In the US, it's almost neck and neck with PS4 which is insane when you think about it. I mean, an Xbox One right now is great but back when it launched? I'm guessing that people bought it on brand loyalty alone for a long, long time since 360 was the best selling console of last generation in that territory. There's just no other excuse.

Interesting numbers.

I could have sworn that N64 was in the fifty million range. Weird.

I think you have it mixed with the SNES, which was a little over 49 million.

I don't believe these. Probably very rough estimates. Where's their source?

Interesting if true. I want some official numbers

It's a bit weird because I thought IHS got their XB1 LTD estimates by the end of 2016 very close. That said, their latest number is too high because that would mean a drastic reduction in the US:WW ratio which is not likely considering (1) what Microsoft said about Xbox hardware sales for Q3 FY2018, (2) the NPD numbers in that same time period, and (3) the vast majority of XB1X units were likely shipped for the US as it launched.

IHS Markit Research is pretty good source from what i hear, makes sense why sony was so conservative in there sales prediction.  IHS Markit also reports 12.8 million Switch units were sold for 2017. They are suppose to best in the business when it comes to estimates, but who knows, we'll have to wait for sony official to see how good they are.
