Forums - Sales Discussion - Xbox One at 39.1 million sold as of March 31st 2018 (IHS Markit Research)

Sure we can put MS numbers between 35-40M with VGC, EA and this report...

But their report itself seems very off considering Sony own numbers that are the most precise one could get, so that already put the credibility of their X1 numbers in check.

And what a comic place the comments section of the link.

Zhuge said he has seen multiple estimates from different analysts and this estimate is the highest he has seen.

We already know based on Sony disclosure of sales.

https://variety.com/2018/gaming/news/ps4-sales-2017-1202790020/ 73.6M at December 2017

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps4-sales-hit-79-million-nearly-topping-ps3/1100-6458569/ shipped 79 by March 2018.

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/272360/765-million-million-playstation-4-consoles-shipped-as-of-december-31/ shipped 76.5 and sold 73.6

so basically that would make the shipping of 2.5M and sales of 3M on Q1 per IHS... or Sony having almost the same level of inventory in shelf in year holiday and Q1 end, and a high number at that (2.4M). Doesn't make much sense.

According to IHS Markit Research, the Xbox One has sold 39.1 million as of March 31st and the PS4 has sold 76.6 million by the same time. This would put the Xbox One at around 2.2 million undertracked and the PS4 at 1 million overtracked. Interesting.

Everyone has a story to tell, and this is theirs.

Yep, the post about regular market distribution of PS made the shift to aggresive without reason.
