Between PS3+PS4 re-release,numbers make sense and its good to see. TLOU 2 should do some big numbers as well.

ND is way past that, sorry. |
Yea but it doesn't have to be that way. Why can't they make a Jak 4 with a compelling story? Not everything has to be dark and edgy.

They are the most talented studios bar none for some years now, they will not go back to doing games were they need to hold back anything. We have other studios for other kinds of games, let ND do their own thing, Jak is in the past, they don't have that direction anymore, let them move on in the direction they wish. The Last of Us world is living hell, they should depict any facet they can imagine that world has to deliver. I'm very happy with them. |
How are they being held back in making a game in a series they created?
I hope they surprise us with joel being playable, but it ain't lookin good.
Combined with the Uncharted franchise, Naughty Dog has sold more than 58.7 million copies of their games since 2007. Impressive.
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

because they have to make some emotional artsy stuff "insert verbose french words"
I'm officially impressed.
Among all the "good" games out there, 17 million is absolutely huge. it's unusual to hear that a very good game is such a huge success. So the masses can appreciate a really good game? You don't hear that every day.

Nah I don’t agree with that, good games bring good sales while games that are total crap don’t sell (or, at least not to their potential or to the levels of anotably better predecessor). On average, with bigger more well known games, there’s a nice correlation to be seen between quality and sales. It is relative to a genre though; a good fighting game will still sell less than a crap shooter.
Especially this gen, where plenty of franchises across the board have dialed it up a notch and got rewarded big time. You see it with Playstation in this game, Uncharted and God of War, and with Nintendo as well with Zelda and (3D) Mario. All of them crushed their previous records due to the stellar receptions of each. Something like CoD also sells a lot, but they aren’t necessarily crap. I’d say they’re actually of high quality for what they are purposed to be, but personally would simply say it’s boring to play such similar games each year.
