The PS4/XB1 versions bombed so I hope that Bethesda isn't expecting huge numbers from the Switch version.

From the data on this site I'm seeing Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus at 70-75% the sales of Wolfenstein: The New Order. That's not bad at all when you consider TNO has more than 4 years on the market whereas TNC has 8 months. Why do you think the PS4/XB1 versions bombed?

I just remember it being discounted to $25 a month after release, it floundering straight out of the gate, people making excuses for why sales were bad almost immediately and people who didn't like the game celebrating its demise on social media.  I mean, it sold 70-75% of the previous entry but how much of that was it full price because 1-2m sold at an average of $50 is a lot different than 1-2m sold at an average of $30.  And even if the average price of each sale is the same for each version, I'd think Bethesda would have higher sales expectations for a sequel.

TNO was a new IP and the sequel managed to do lower sale wise even with great critics and quick price drop. They are dead silent on the Switch version... it will still perform alright but idk.. we'll see. It releases right in a big flow of games. It should have released in March/April or August. Would do better.

Gotcha. So it didn't bomb at all then. Hitting 50% off during Black Friday isn't a sign of a bomb. I'm not sure if you pay much attention to sales or not, but it's rather common for games to drop in price after a little while. Paying full price is for those who want to experience the game when it first comes out (and even then with Amazon Prime and other similar pre-order friendly programs you still get 20% off).

Also, TNO was not a new IP. Wolfenstein has been around for more than 25 years.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion after what he said.

It obviously had a bigger budget, higher production value, more marketing over TNOP and releasing at a good time and this game obviously wont have much legs it wont tie it's prequel in terms of sales. It's a shame because it's a damned fine game. It's perfectly normal for a game to drop in price sure, but dropping 50% a month after it's release is definately not a good sign by any means. Wolfenstein 2 bombed.

Switch and Switch games seems more popular in June than they were in May.

Are the reviews coming out tomorrow or Thursday ?

Probably at 8am the day before it releases. Nintendo tends to have a really late embargo lift these days.

A week passed since E3.

I can confirm Nintendo is doing well in Amazon right now.

Here's the monthly hardware rankings as they currently stand:

Nintendo Switch (neon): #9
Nintendo Switch (grey): #27
SNES Classic: #48
Xbox One X: #54
XBO S 500GB standalone: #58

At this point, I think we can say for sure that Amazon is, at least for now, not selling PlayStation systems in any official capacity. If this is still the case by year's end, I think I will simply cease doing these threads. Nintendo's been over-represented for months now, Amazon was never a good predictor of software rankings, and the PS4 is in absentia. All these factors combined seems to make these threads pointless, to say nothing about how burned out I am in general, not just with these threads but with anything. I can't seem to get motivated to do much of anything outside of work and doing basic household necessities. I've greatly slowed down the frequency of my activity here. I actually finished a big sales-related project two months ago but haven't gotten around to making a thread about it. I've left several games unfinished, and most of what I do now is a couple of sessions of Halo, and most of my entertainment over the past couple of months has been enjoyed passively. It's like I'm constantly running on fumes, and trying to expend the least amount of energy possible just to make it through the end of the day. Honestly, I think I need a good long vacation to recharge.

Totally understandable. Maybe you can use your knowledge and graphs in the NPD predictor thread. At this point I agree that it's wasted energy on a dedicated Amazon thread. Even the comments are copy and pasted week in and week out the the same users repeating pretty much the same thing.

Take things easy for a while and get a good medical check up. Don't burn yourself out please, I love your graphs and analysis and I am sure your loved ones love you even more for even more important reasons than those.
