Black Ops Campaigns were actually very enjoyable experiences. Besides, it's not like COD games haven't multiplayer focused anyway, so having a single-player Story Mode would have continued to be a nice bonus.

Then again, a lack of a Campaign Mode is just one of this game's issues for me.

Instead of wasting time and resource on something hardly anyone uses they can put effort on the multiplayer that pretty much everyone uses.

Oh yes, because accepting incomplete games at full price is definitely the message we should be sending publishers with all the underhanded nickel-and-diming they're already pulling on us.

Hell, knowing Activision, they'll sell the single-player campaign as DLC at a later time, I take it some people are okay with this as well, cordoning off a piece of cut content that should've been in the game from the start. Seriously, fuck Activision.

And about that Battle Royale mode, you know it's gonna be filled with sleazy microtransactions and loot boxes. You KNOW it's coming, it wouldn't be an Activision-published game without it.

Wait.... is it only 4v4?

Hmm, pie.

They answered the things that their core fanbase wanted.

Expanded Zombies
Battle Royale
Removing the jetpacks and wall running
Adding more utility to MP classes

They ignored the traditional campaign, much like a lot of players tend to.

This game is giving me a Ray Finkle feeling about lack ops IIII, just replace the dan marino with CoD, and laces out with Single player campaign, and $60 multiplayer only game allover the place.    LOL

This actually looks really interesting, I am actually really hyped for this one. I never cared for the campaigns in COD, they were mostly transformers like action blockbuster movies, entertaining but forgettable.

I love this colorful look, it pops at you, very nice, looks like they are doubling down on the Black Ops 3 colour scheme which was very successful.

Definitely a lot of haters but honestly nobody really cares about the campaign anymore and it seems more like a bandwagon for blind haters to pounce on, every COD has them since it's cool to hate it but whatever if it brings their life meaning to be part of something, power to them. Nobody cared about it until it was removed.

I mean seriously the best campaign this gen was easily Infinite Warfare's campaign and nobody even bothered complimenting it, sure it's no MW or Black Ops 1 but meh if they really cared about the campaign they'd give credit where credit is due. Nobody cares about the campaign.

What the BR or the MP? i Don't believe so, 4 player co-op on zombies and 4 players with bots I'd assume is where you are getting mixed up on that.

The video at the top of page 7, I was looking wrong any it has 5v5 in it. Nevermind.

Hmm, pie.

A lot of players may do so but they also do so in single only player games and not see them through to the end, hell some people buy games and never boot them up, their stats are off and misleading as can been shown with Dooms success and that of Rage 2's hype, a game that was so bland I can't remember a single detail of it is getting mad hype over a leak. People want single player experiences even if they want to buy it for single player and have the game still wrapped on a shelf. There's a post above I've said all this to snoopy but, Carl man, don't listen to their BS excuses that players don'e want SP. It's a lie and as has been shown with BF2 and TF2 and the success of doom and other titles people want that SP campaign. It also has been shown that MP games with campaigns last longer than MP only and hold player retention.

Also, no one asked for a COD BR, they forced it and it seems they hastily forced post Fortnite success and in no way will the COD business model gain a portion of that success. :(

No doubt there's still a significant market for single player experiences, but with how the shooter market has gone over the last 2 or 3 years there's been a significant shift to a more multiplayer focus with single player content taking a backseat. These games are being played longer by people, they're being pushed in the mass market by celebrities (Fortnite in particular) and yeah, they're easier for publishers to slap micro-transactions on. It's the way the market's moved.

Overwatch
H1Z1
PUBG
Fortnite
Rainbow Six Siege
CS GO

Outside of Battlefront, Battlefield and Call of Duty I think it's fair to say that those games have been the main attraction in terms of "shooters" over the last couple years. You could add in Splatoon if you're feeling generous, but there's a general trend in what the consumer is playing and where the market is moving. Dedicated multiplayer experiences.

People have been asking for a big time publisher to jump on the bandwagon of BR since PUBG got so huge. During that conference you could hear people shouting for BR. If you're denying that there's a thirst for BR, especially from the market leader when it comes to FPS, then you're not being serious. COD BR has the potential to be huge if done right.

Just took a look at it ....

Ok, it looks like any generic modern shooter. Unless there's the rumored BR mode in it, I doubt this will make this game reach the level of WWII sales

Wasn't WWII just a generic old war shooter?

I have a question, could you already swim underwater, use shields and build barricades in black ops iii? I haven't been following futuristic cod games multiplayer since black ops ii.

My thoughts:

No singleplayer: obviously disappointing, but the fact that this already leaked some time ago made the blow a bit less worse as it was to be expected

MP: although I liked what we've seen I'm disappointed by the return of Specialists (their weapons and abilities to be exact, not the characters themselves) as it means that once again every noob will get an overpowered piece of equipment multiple times a match. Definitely can't wait for the beta though

Zombies: don't give 2 shits about the first 2 maps they've shown unless they will somehow connect to the storyline already established from WaW through BO3, and it appears they wont. Can't fucking wait for Blood of the Dead though

Blackout: can't really form an opinion as the only thing we know is that it will have air, ground and sea vehicles and that you can play as various characters from the Black Ops and Zombies universe. Hopefully it will be playable in the Beta and hopefully we'll get a gameplay reveal at E3
