On to the topic.

This game has seen multiple ports in the past, including DS. It's perhaps a better into to the series than Disgaea 5, which will have a lot of newbies feeling lost (don't worry, we all mostly are, and that's alright for the first 50 hours or so), but it's not going to be as satisfying a game in the end; the amount of content in Disgaea 5 is staggering in comparison, and it's all mostly good.

I kind of feel that if you already have Disgaea 5, and have put a lot into it, there's no reason to go back and get an earlier game in the series unless you really can't get enough Disgaea and want to dig back in time a little.

The unserious tone and comical characters are a big part of the draw. Laharl, Etna, and Flonne make such a charming trio. Also some touching moments.

I highly recommend it.
