Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One is the best console if you don't care about exclusive new games - The Verge

Which is why i bought a PS4. I think backwards compatibility is an awesome feature, but it shouldn't be the main feature of a console which from my point of view it has become on xbox one. But what do i know, i hardly pay attention to xbox anymore

Nailed it.

I would be a full-on PC gamer if not for exclusive games.

I have not been particularly impressed with the PS4 as a whole, and the fact that it lacks backwards compatibility and doesn't play CD's kind of pisses me off. I will probably sell it after I've had a chance to play Spider-Man and get a XB1. The backwards compatibility is a big deal to me.

I assume that it has the capability to play CDs though? And just doesn't use it for royalty reasons? At least that's how it was with the Wii.

So if you only care about a mass amount of old games - playable on old systems, the xb1 is the best system?
Did Phil write this? Is Sam Byford secretly Aaron or Phil?

What a disaster of an article.

Well if he want to have a gigantic library of old games he could buy a PS2 for himself... or a PC.

Or Sony could just implement BC so I can play my PS1-PS3 games on my PS4.

You had your thread on that =p

Not sure.  PS1 - PS3 could all play CDs.  I have no idea why that function was taken away on PS4.

If u care about bc that much then u should play on PC.giving bc priority over new games is backward thinking.

One of the main reasons I love PC gaming in general are two important things. Graphics and Library. X1X offers those two in the console space. Plus the Xbox Controller and Live service are great bonuses. It will only get better as more 1st party games arrive. In the mean time as a hardware perspective, its definitely the best thing on the market.
