Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon 2 Outsells Original!! :D

I really don't see how anything in Splatoon 2 levels the playing field like in Mario Kart.

There's no equivalent to the blue shell that punishes you for winning, and it's not like you get better or worse abilities based on whether you are winning or losing. If you're getting consistently beaten it only stands to reason that your opponents are better players and that you need to practice more.

Playing it in exactly the same way as the first game is not the optimum strategy, you'll do better if you learn and master the ways in which the formula has been re-tuned.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Isnt the free updates going to stop soon? Like maybe after the dlc gets released? Because thats why I think we will get Splatoon 3 next year.

I dont think that updates will stop soon, Splatoon is game like one game per console, similar like Smash Bros and Mario Kart and its obvous it will keep selling great in folowing years also, so like I wrote, there is no way we are getting Splatoon 3 next year or year later, its big question if Switch will get another Splatoon game at all.

If the updates continues, then yeah I agree with you.

Pocky Lover Boy!

lol if you dont think splatoon 1 had spawncamping then just lol. I know it had it because I did it all the time in the first game

I think Splatoon should be a once-per-system series like Mario Kart and Smash. Save Splatoon 3 for the Switch's successor and just keep adding new content to #2 over the next couple years.

If that's how things go, Splatoon 2 has a shot at hitting 10 million lifetime I reckon, or close to it.

I would be down for a sequel if the Switch lasts long enough but if not, I think the Octo Expansion + all the mountains of free stuff will do.  I do want to see them really push the boat out with 3 though.  Go all out with presentation, make the campaign bigger and more elaborate, launch with a ton of maps, etc.

I keep hoping this will happen with the majority of franchises.  I would be fine with an early release for the initial game and then a mix of updates and paid DLC to flesh out the rest of the game (or in some cases continue the story) all on one system and then the next generation the new game comes out.

The first one was for Wii U. So no surprise at all.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019
