I think Last of Us 2 honestly will take the cake. I think Last of Us 2 and Naughty Dog is one of the few games/companies outside of Nintendo that can easily get 95+ (Exclusive Talk).

Well...if you honestly believe that there's no masterpiece among the previous gow games, you will probably be disappointed by this one as well.

Consider your own taste first and the scores later. I was personally disappointed by botw and odyssey. I've never been a big fan of those games, but the amazing reviews led me to buy both. It's not like I thought they were bad, I just...couldn't comprehend how they managed to score so well despite having some serious shortcomings (imho). Same thing for GTA games. I bought GTA4 because of the reviews and I couldn't even finish it, it was just so boring to me.

You're absolutely right, reviews can be really decieving.

About the 'no masterpiece' part, I guess I could've explained a little better. I AM a fan of the original trilogy, but to me they are 8/10 games.

That's two big risks that paid off for game developers this year (the first being MHW).

 

Hopefully this leads to a trend of trying new things.

I looked at these scores and my knees got weak. The best part of owning a Sony console is watching their studios compete against each other to give you the best games. I love it!

I forgot to say it yesterday but according to this reviewer its really easy to spoil certain things of this game, so according to him if you dont want to spoil yourself but you want to see all those video reviews, you should just play the video but dont watch it and just leave it on another tab while you listen to it, he also made a spoiler free review which i will leave here.
