Since when did we start to create these kind of threads where we celebrate occasions that haven't happened yet?

It happened months ago already, Vita is most likely over-tracked by millions on this site. The numbers never made any sense, especially in the West where it has been discontinued for a couple of years already.

What is VGChartz "estimate" ? And how do we know that either are a close enough estimate ? Could go in all sorts of ways ...

Scenario #1: Switch has already passed the Vita and it's overtracked
Scenario #2: The Switch is overtracked and it will pass the Vita later on
Scenario #3: Both are overtracked and it's undetermined which is ahead

Why are you on this site if you're going to object to the estimates?

Sales estimes are not the only reason to visit this site, the forums themselves are a big reason many people join.

And the estimates have been wrong so many times in the past that its fair to object them.

There is no single evidence that PS Vita is overtracked on this site, tbh I believe that it is still a little bit undertracked. While on the other hand we have evidence that Nintendo's Wii U and 3DS are both overtracked on VGChartz.

15.9m vs 16.0m on the front page right now. How will you celebrate the occasion? Pop a cork for the Switch, pour one out for the poor Vita, or both?

Comparing a dedicated handheld to a hybrid home console is like comparing motorcycle sales to automobile sales. Different markets, different demographics... the variables won't allow for me to even begin comparing their sales because they're just too great.

I get Wii U, but where is the evidence 3DS is over-tracked? Nintendo had it's shipment numbers at 71.99 million units as of December 31st 2017 and Sony haven't been sharing the Vita's sales numbers so where is the evidence it's being over-tracked/under-tracked right now on vgchartz? Nintendo share all their console shipment data so we have the evidence to say yes Wii U is over-tracked, but not 3DS, with Vita we have none.

I'm searching but they were similar threads for the PS4 passing the 3DS.

Double standards at the finest, but I digress

OP

Next up for Switch, Gamecube! Which should be passed probably in June if numbers are backed up.

Call it double standards but passing a low selling console isn't exactly a reason to celebrate. PS4 on the other hand passed a high selling console.

Either way it's silly, neither is justified imo.

I will celebrate when Switch sells 5 x more than Vita.
