Every CoD

Every Elder Scrolls

Every Mario game following Super Mario World.

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't put FFIX on your list.

FFIX is generally suppressed in terms of hype when compared to CoD, ES, and Mario.

People on here have to understand that just because everyone has an opinion it doesn't make it right! Most people's gaming preferences read like Amazon product reviews. Even highly great reviewed items on Amazon has those few that give things a 1 or 2 stars, even though the overwhelming majority view it as something great.

I generally look at the good and bad reviews when it comes to gaming just to see if the things people skew as horrendous are really that bad. I'm a gameplay first before story kind of gamer, that's why I don't find BoTW as offensive as those who don't like it.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That, and Bioshock.

I agree that OoT is currently overrated as fuck, but at time of release it was unreal.

Any GTA since III. The 2D ones are actually better imo

Skyrim... well any Elder Scrolls title for that matter

Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Wasn't into console gaming at the time (between NES/SMS and Gamecube I was a pure PC gamer) and find both horrible on every level. And the confusing story of OoT is not helping either.

I also once hated A Link to the past very much because they made the knights out of Zelda II so weak they became introduction mobsters (Zelda II is my all-time favorite Zelda btw), but that passed away over time.

Uncharted and Tomb Raider series. Visually stunnung, lazy gameplay imo.

Any Fallout since III. Just can't come anywhere near the brilliancy of the first 2 titles, even being below it's Fallout tactics spinoff and the incomplete Van Buren (which was supposed to become Fallout III until Interplay kicked it) imo.

I did say pseudo rpg, right? Series evolve over time or die out. The majority of the zelda games are much closer to being rpgs than they are to the original games or being a part of the plain ol' action genre. It's not much of a stretch to say they are rpgs. GOW is getting the rpg makeover. I'm not gonna call it a hack and slash.

I know you said pseudo rpg, i'm explaining why critiquing Zelda as an RPG doesn't make sense. You say that it's closer to an RPG than an action game but ... there's a term called ... "Action/Adventure". Zelda is an action adventure game.

In general, people don't use the term RPG properly anyways. Video games have been moving closer to """""RPGs""""" since Battlefield 2 made progression systems popular in shooters. In actuality, what most people stereotype as what makes an RPG an RPG isn't really ... well ... what makes an RPG an RPG. But at least those people don't go around critiquing a franchise because they don't know genre labels ;)

No harm no foul really though. If you don't like Zelda that's fine.

I didn't critique it as a rpg, Kathy Newman. I criticized the games for being a pseudo rpg that basically retells the same story with the same characters over again and again. Are you gonna go on about Zelda not being a rpg series, Kathy?

Also, I 've been playing games since the 80's so I'm pretty sure I understand genres well enough and how they blend together.  It's a bit presumptuous of you  and silly, to think I needed to be lectured on it.

I never said that I didn't like Zelda. The thread is about the most overrated game and to me, that fits Zelda perfectly. I think the games are okay and a little too kiddy for me.

Yeah, you being old doesn't make your definitions of genres right, by the way. Especially considering you aren't even using the proper term for Zelda ... an "Action/Adventure" game, not a "pseudo rpg".

Also how dare you call me Kathy Newman. Take that back.

Look up pseudo real quick. You're being silly and you're either misunderstanding or mischaracterizing what I said. So yeah. You're being a Kathy. Did I actually say it was a rpg?
