I will put my opinion here. Damn that is impressive, it goes to show quiet the turn around for the company compared to last generation mishaps, and I for one could not have predicted the success they would have had.

That momentum

Nintendo is back for blood.
For a society that evolves and being more and more on the road or just not wanting to be trapped in the basement in front of your TV, this is the ultimate console.

I told y'all this thing will break the 100 million. I mean it didn't happen yet but there is so much to be done with it still that i can't possibly imagine Nintendo dropping the ball on it like the Wii did cause the casual market got tired of it which in this case, this isn't the main market for the Switch.

Well deserved. Will be the fastest selling one after 24 months as well.

Which console is the highest at the moment?

You can't fall of a cliff if you're already at rock bottom. You have to start from the top to fall down.

You'll see, in time. This is all leading to something .......... and you, yes you, will cry.

Like really this is exactly what i mean. People assuming the console is loosing momentum in 2018 is only because there was no big games on the horizon nor announced for the year (that we actually had something to look foward too like gameplay or something).
The Switch is in the post launch year phase rn, devs that got devs kits will most likely release games starting end of 2018/2019 and most of teams from Nintendo didn't release anything on Switch yet that is brand new. Switch is grabbing the gamer market by the end with games like Zelda/Odyssey, upcoming Smash/Pokémon/Metroid/Bayonetta games and will also take upon the casual market with Labo and all the INSANE marketing they will receive from the Universal theme parks AND movies.

There is probably more stuff that Nintendo is working on right now that we have no idea about like a Netflix series of Splatoon or whatever. Also don't forget about China :p

Well, that's a nice feather in the cap. About as nice as it gets. Hooray for everything! Western hemisphere!
