Uncharted 4 did 8.7m on its first 9 months, so GoW doing 5m on its first 3, and outside of holidays, is not something easy or guaranteed. But I'm pretty confident it will too. |
No, Uncharted did 8.7m in ~7.5 months. It released May 10 and was at 8.7m at the end of 2016.
It also did 2.7 million week one.

I just thought of a major factor in GoW’s favor. GoW has traditionally done much better, sales-wise, in the US. GoW 3 still sold great, despite the ps3 selling fairly poorly in the US. But for the new God of War, ps4 has a very healthy install base in the US.
It would be interesting to compare the US sales numbers for ps3 when GoW 3 released vs. ps4 now when GoW is releasing.
If the rest of the game is as good as the first 3hrs apparently are, it’s possible GoW could do 5 million in its first month or 2.

GOW 3 sold 1.1 million in March 2010 in the US. GOW should top it easily.

Yes.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

How? He destroyed the world and his entire family line, please explain how his son is still alive and the world still standing.
To me it's going to be just as big as GoW 3 phenomenon on PS3. That game still amazes me to date.

The remaster on PS4 in sweet 60fps doesn't actually look significantly worse than other PS4 games. GoW 3 and The last of us where really graphical masterpieces. Especially the opening battle and the Kronos fight are among my most memorable video game moments. Also this game is 25 to 35 hours long so it's probably the biggest God of War game to date.

This GoW is more targeted at Europeans than previous installments. So I would expect a 6:4 salesratio in favor of the US. But this game should be able to sell 2 million during the launch week. With 900k coming from the US. This is going to be the best selling GoW game to date however.
