Forums - Gaming - Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Announced! Launching October 12th and Reveal on May 17th

Publisher Activision did not reveal much more information than that, adding that it and developer Treyarch will share more details on May 17, with the game coming out October 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

This will be the first time in over a decade that the fall’s annual Call of Duty is coming in October rather than November. Perhaps related: Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, which is likely to be this fall’s biggest game, will be out on October 26.

Despite earlier rumors, Activision did not say anything about a Switch release. When asked about that, the company declined to comment. There is, of course, a Nintendo Direct today at 5pm ET, so if the company does plan to release Black Ops IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII on Switch, it may be waiting for then.

I hope Black Ops 4 actually has a good story this time. Black Ops 3 was still by far the worst campaign of any Call of Duty game imo. Seriously, that was fuckin awful.

Also I guess we'll know if it's coming to Switch in the Nintendo Direct later today. Like, it would make no sense to not announce it right now otherwise if it actually is coming to Switch.

Ehh will see how this plays out.

Is that supposed to be a 4 in the game's logo?

If that's the case, then the developers aren't exactly the intelligentest people around.

IIII was used by the Romans as well

Activision must feel threatened by RDR2, they haven't released a CoD game outside of November since Call of Duty 2 in 2005, lol. Releasing 10 days before RDR2 now.

They should be, Rockstars last game sold 90 million units. Activision is doing the right move.

The Roman Empire fell 1542 years ago.

The Division 2 has also been announced. The industry could find better days to announce this stuff instead of just crumbling everything in one day?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Yeah is there any reason as to why today seems to be a big day full of new announcements? Black Ops 4, The Division 2, a new Nintendo Direct that could have any surprise new announcement in it really. All on the same day.

I personally don't mind, it feels sort of E3-ish with all this new info being announced at once lol but it's just random to see on this day.

Well, maybe they know that a Nintendo Direct is keeping many gamers and journalists glued to their PCs to hear any rumours and news as soon as they come out, so they just take advantage of that attention.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

IIII was originally used but later IV was adapted. Alsolots of clocks use IV and IIII were in some Roman documents.
