I identify as a God. My name is Erebus. Provide me a tropical island with a mansion with access to the internet, worshipers on hallucinogens, a harem of beautiful women aged 25 to 35 from Australia, Sweden, Italy, Ukraine and enough riches so I'm able to live a lifestyle that conforms with my identity. If you don't comply, you're guilty of denying my existence and you'll go to jail for hate crimes. 🙏

I fail to see any negative consequences coming from this.
Serious question, why should I, or anyone give a toss how someone identifies?

Worship me. 🙏

Well, you see, if you are a racist it makes it difficult to know exactly who you are supposed to hate.

Beyond that, I really can't think of much...

False equivalency. The biological and genetic differences between  humans of the same race are extremely small compared to those of different races.

Might as well call yourself a galaxy because you are also made up of atoms.

Just an FYI, there's actually more genetic difference between you and any random individual within the same race than between any two races.

Genetically, race is almost meaningless, as it mostly exists socially and politically

I totally agree.  If you take an African baby and put him in Europe and raise him as a European, he will grow up talking, acting and behaving exactly like a European.  It's the environment we grow up in that makes us who we are.  There are no biological differences between us.

And if there are, as someone else has already said, they aren't big enough to really mean anything.

I also believe the food and water we grow up on makes a difference.  If you grow up in a area where the water is dirtier, air is dirtier and food is not of high quality, you're probably going to grow up a tad "dumber" than someone who grew up on clean water, air, and high quality food.

Lol that’s true. What i mean to say is that it’s probably not going to change anything in any major way, so no need to freak out against ‘SJWs’

Of course there's no need... but "we will continue identifying race pretty much the same way we always have" is not nearly as interesting as "OMG THE SJWS WANT TO LET EVERYONE IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS PANDAS!"

Just what I was thinking.

Are you really trying to convince me that "basic politeness is actually bad"?

You're still avoiding answering my question: if you self identified as any race or gender, on a form no less, what does it matter?

No, nobody is getting an island, or money, or women (really says a lot you went there pal).

Let's even entertain the article. Why would I give a toss what anyone wishes to be called? Really not that big a deal, though I guess common courtesy must be a tough challenge for some

Would you consider a Swedish person from Germanic origin and an Italian person from Romanic origin, to be different races?

Probably not. Can't say for sure without more information, you practically gave no information since I wouldn't include any cultural or nationality differences in race classification. I'll agree that those (Germanic, Romanic, Slavic etc) are human constructs. But there are still identifiable genetic differences to show different races.

Dutch and German people only differ a little bit, because they belonged to the same people until relatively recently. Germanic and Romanic people differ more, because they got seperated thousands of years ago. And blacks and whites differ even more, because they've been seperated for a long time.

We can say that chimpanzees and humans are different species, because scientists made rules to divide animals into groups: two animals belong to different species if they can't get a fertile offspring. However, since animals are constantly evolving, actual different 'races' or 'species' or 'families' don't exist. They're a human attempt to create order in the plethora of different animals. So of course, the difference isn't alwasys clear. With lions and tigers for instance, it's hard to say whether they're seperate species or not.

TL;DR: living species are dynamic and any form of division is nothing but a human construction.

I have better idea. How about not to differentiate people by race ... period. When was the last time you had to disclose your hair or eye color in any application? Who gives a s***? BS like that not only doesn't help, but does exacerbate the issue.

What's funny about being a gay black woman?

Deny it all you want, but DNA isn't a "human construction"...

Obviously not. Every single individual has different DNA. And your father 's DNA for instance, is a lot more similar to yours that that of a tree. But there's nowhere we can draw a clear line.
