Yes, it's almost like it's only a fucking movie.

The sequels are better than the prequels and that's all anyone was ever going to get. Some people treat this like it's supposed to be a religious experience, it's freaking kids movie at its core and Lucas got lucky with several things in the OT that were lucky accidents that are never happening again.

That's all I wanted. It's cool that you think that way but there's plenty of others who don't like the new films. People should be able to respect each other's opinions.

I'm just saying do we need to have the same whiny fanbase reaction to EVERY Star Wars movie every time?

The "nerd community" just fucking needs to let this go, this is now almost 20 years of unrelenting "backlash". You're not getting the Star Wars movie you want. It's not gonna happen if your expectations are that high. The originals are only good by a lot of fluke/good fortune/stars aligning that will never happen again.

This same shit will happen again for Episode IX too ... "OHMAGAWD, it's TOO SAFE as a movie, why don't they take risks like Last Jedi did!!! I hate you JJ!". Rinse, wash, repeat.

I like Star Wars too and can be critical of it but I can also admit the fan base can also be a bunch of whiny, entitled little shits too. That streak runs very strong in the fan base, the fan base is embarrassing at times.

You're getting a new Star Wars trilogy and it's about as good as the modern Marvel films. And that's all you were ever gonna get. If you're going to throw a hissy fit like a child that it's not as good as you wanted, like serious chill the fuck out. It's not a good look.

I would not call her that, because it implies that her being a woman is a problem.
The problem is that she it is a shallow, boring and uninteresting character

I disagree with that. If a fan base just remained quiet when they didn't like something, the company who made it would assume they did a good job and what they're doing is working, they'll just keep doing it. That applies to a lot of products.

It doesn't imply anything especially if a person just takes a moment google it with the smartphone they have in their hand or pocket.

Yeah, I think I'll just settle for calling her a shitty character from now on.

Of course she is. Though to be fair, Luke and especially Anakin are kind of Gary Stu, so at least they're staying true to the Star Wars formula to some degree.

Rey and Luke don't compare. Luke got his shit kicked in helping to build a sense of danger. Anakin... I'm not gonna defend Anakin, especially in Phantom.

Here's a good vid. Made by the same guy who did ANH:Mary Sue Edition.

Thought we already had this topic, but yes, yes she is. I tried to ignore it with the first movie hoping that there would be an explanation why she is just so damn good at everything on her first try, but...nah, she's a nobody from nowhere. No point seeing the next movie even if I wanted to, as Rey will just win the day without breaking a sweat, while the other heroes probably walk straight into and through explosions without flinching due to their incredibly thick plot armor. The original trilogy are classics, but the franchise as a whole is a complete joke deserving of Transformers-level ridicule.

I'd love to see Rey fighting against Hulk in the matrix using their magic wands.

What other universe are we going to mix to defend MaRey Sue?

It's a fanbase that can be incredibly childish and abrasive when they don't get exactly what they want. I didn't like the prequels, but learning of some of the abuse Jake Llyod (the kid actor who was Anakin in Episode I) went through is really kind of revolting.

They're just movies. People need to calm down.

Also by the time you get to part EIGHT of anything it's gonna get kinda stale/dull ... Rocky VIII, Jurassic Park VIII, Godfather Part VIII, Iron Man VIII, Back To The Future VIII, I'm pretty sure would have some issues. Fast & Furious series isn't even recognizable anymore compared to the first one.

It's not easy to make the 7th, 8th of anything. By that point everything that's supposed to have been done probably has and coming up with logical reasons for the characters to get up off their ass and do the same thing for upteenth time becomes more difficult to rationalize. Is it really believable that Luke Skywalker would even allow something like the First Order to rise or that Han/Leia/Luke wouldn't have been 10x more careful in raising Kylo knowing their family history?

But you don't have a movie if that doesn't happen.
