I'm not sure if Pokemon US/UM are good or bad. On one hand, the 3DS is on its way out and this is the 4th Pokemon series in the system. On the other hand, not even reaching 2m at launch is weak, considering the 70m userbase the 3DS has. Good numbers for both Switch and VR Skyrim too, they can reach the million sold once the discounts arrive.

Also, nice, Battlefront II didn't reach 1m at launch on PS4, and the other platforms performed even weaker. Take that, EA.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

Sun/Moon had an opening week of 3.7 million, so Ultra has sold about half as much first week.

It launched in Europe the week after though, so the aligned launch would be about 5.2 million

decent launch for Skyrim VR, might have already payed for the conversion in week1, although many units probably were bundled - Bethesda will get a good cut from those anyway

Ah, that would put it closer to 1/3 of Sun/Moon's opening week then.

Most of the sales for US/UM are from Japan other than that it pretty much "flopped" for a Pokemon game. It will have nice legs during holiday season but I don't see it passing 6.5 millions.

Nice debut for Skyrim on Switch and VR.
Doom crossed the 100k physical, which isn't bad. Let's see if it can get a boost from BF and holidays. The game was sold out at couple of places so we atleast know it's doing on par with the Bethesda shipments.

Next week will be really interesting. Mario + Rabbids had couples of bundles in America/Canada so it will most likely have great sales next week. I think we can expect other games from Ubisoft since MR is at 800k physical as of Nov 18th, bundled during BF and Mario effect for holidays, game is probably over the million bar without digital sales (which the game is still charting really high).

Nice to see EA fail. But I think the game will have nice legs with the movie/bundles and heavy marketing.

With odyssey selling that many,no wonder it reached 5m so easily

Not looking good for AAA 3rd party support on Switch! L.A. Noire Switch not even in the Top 30 for it's debut, Doom Switch already dropping, and Skyrim, the only AAA 3rd party I felt had a chance at a million, probably wont get there with that opening. I think it's safe to say Resident Evil wont do much either. We can only hope developer expectations were in check.

Skyrim Switch will pass a million; many, many games have opened much lower than 154k and gone on to sell over a million.

And Doom actually held up okay; 80k first week to a 37k second week, not actually that steep a drop at all.
