Remember that you are just one of "most people"

The Switch is a handheld system, having to change carts on the go is far more annoying than just clicking an icon from the software library area, I have over 30 games on mine now, I really can't imagine fumbling around with that amount of carts while traveling with the system.

Ditto. As much as I love owning a physical copy, having to constantly switch (HA) carts is annoying.

You guys need something like this:

https://www.amazon.de/HORI-Schutzh%C3%BClle-Nintendo-Switch-schwarz/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1515251634&sr=8-3&keywords=switch+spiele+h%C3%BClle

I got one for christmas, it's fantastic!

How does it work? Does it automatically close game 1 (you should not eject the current game without closing), eject module 1, opens the case, puts the module in the case, gets module 2 out of the case, inserts it in the Switch slot and starts game 2?

With digital versions, you press the home button in game 1 and start game 2 (game 1 closes then automatically)

Surprisingly I have come to not want my Switch games on cartridges anymore either. The convenience of just having them in the home menu is just too good. Wouldnt have thought it, cause switching a cartridge doesnt sound like a big hassle, but for some reason I prefer not to have to do it. Exception will be: fullprized games that I am unsure if I will enjoy and may want to resell.

Yeah captain, of course it can't do that. I only showed a simple solution to having a bunch of games on the go without the need to carry 24 game cases around. Digital games are changed faster, obviously.

I think that most people would rather wait and get a physical copy.

The Switch is a hybrid.Beyond that, it never stopped people to buy physical copies for handhelds systems rather than digital, like the 3DS

Either way, this speculation will go nowhere.I think the only safe conclusion you can have is that digital might be a bit higher than usual due to the shortages.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

That's the one I got, space for 5 games along the top so 90% of the time Zelda is in the Switch and I've my other 4 games along there... and the other 34 digital games installed on my 128GB SD card which I got for about £40 in the UK.

You are comparing the Switch where you can buy every game for the system (-imaginators) from the Eshop, and you can have Eshop accounts for EU/US and Japan on a single system.... to the 3ds which did not have the ability to buy full retail games for about the first year or two of its existence?

I would argue that people bought physical copies of games on the 3ds.... because if they didn't, they didn't have the games. It's like suggesting that digital downloads on the PS4 are probably zero because it's a console just like the Megadrive and people didn't download any of the games for that.

I'm in a dilemma here, cause I love the convenience of Digital, especially when on the road, but I also love having a physical item. I especially dig Nicalis Switch relieases, wich come with gorgeous little manuals and other fun stuff. Yet.....digital is sooo convenient. I wish there was a system that allowed making a single digital copy of a physical game tethered to your account. Of course some people might exploit it an sell on the physical copy, but it would be nice. I refuse to double dip just for digital.

I'd pay a small sum for a digital version though, maybe a 1$-5$ 'upgrade fee' in order to have the option....sigh...

Like moat people in this thread im also finding cartridge changes a total pain in the arse ( even though its totally not) and im leaning heavily towards digital from now on.

Switch owners starving for games!

But in all seriousness this is really good! Usually software sales determine where hardware sales go. This means there is a chance that the Switch hardware numbers can sell more in Q1 2018.

Also Xenoblade 2 has legs!
