Remember that you are just one of "most people"

The Switch is a handheld system, having to change carts on the go is far more annoying than just clicking an icon from the software library area, I have over 30 games on mine now, I really can't imagine fumbling around with that amount of carts while traveling with the system.

The Switch is a hybrid.Beyond that, it never stopped people to buy physical copies for handhelds systems rather than digital, like the 3DS

Either way, this speculation will go nowhere.I think the only safe conclusion you can have is that digital might be a bit higher than usual due to the shortages.

You are comparing the Switch where you can buy every game for the system (-imaginators) from the Eshop, and you can have Eshop accounts for EU/US and Japan on a single system.... to the 3ds which did not have the ability to buy full retail games for about the first year or two of its existence?

I would argue that people bought physical copies of games on the 3ds.... because if they didn't, they didn't have the games. It's like suggesting that digital downloads on the PS4 are probably zero because it's a console just like the Megadrive and people didn't download any of the games for that.
