To all the morons saying that "sexism is overblown in the west," have you totally checked out on the rapefest that is the current news cycle?

"It's not as bad" is not the same as "it's not bad as it was" or "it's not as bad as it is over there."

We still have a serious problem with racism, and the Donald Trump is evidence that both problems are still prominent and pervasive.

Literally, don't be THAT GUY: you're totally being "him" with these indefensibly ignorant comments.

lmao someone sent this guy to pakistan to see how good things really get.

Trump is racist lol to whom, non greenbacks ?

You just validated what I said.

So you must blindly agree with women who hold differing views, some of which being that men are purely evil?

This isn't marriage, so no, I don't have to blindly agree with women and their wokest agenda. I am a HUMAN, and therefore can come to my own conclusion rather than have someone spoon feed me information like a helpless baby. That's more bending over than being an actual man.

You both validated it.  Masculine fragility coupled with an extremism fallacy.

Men claim this extreme agenda because they fear actual equality.  They inject this inequality in the other direction debate point as a means to maintain the current inequality in their favor.

Men fear having to deal with the bullshit that women must endure through their entire lives so they conflate and exaggerate the feminist agenda and paint it as the "boogie woman" out to ruin men.

LOLOLOL

What problems do women have on a daily basis that is an ACTUAL problem in discrimination? The wage gap has been illegitimate for years now, so good luck with everything beyond that.

Next, go to Saudi Arabia and tell me how women have problems here. Go ahead, do it.

Amazing I read this thread title and instead of people celebrating this or not giving a shit. Most are defending how essential the feminist movement is these days. Also the US is not the entire Western world, he'll it isn't even a quarter of it.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

More logical fallacies.  Just because the problem is worse somewhere else doesn't negate the existence of the problem here.

I'll put it this way.  Women in the US say their is still a problem.  Men say there is not a problem.  So who should we listen to?  The group actually affected by the problem or the group that isn't?

2017 comes to a close, and for the first time in Hollywood history, the top three performers in the Domestic Box Office were movies with a female character as the main star.

1: Beauty and the Beast: 504M
2: Wonder Woman: 412.5M
3: Star Wars: The Last Jedi 397.27M (and rising)

Source:  http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2017

However, it doesn't end there.  This was merely the crowning achievement of a growing trend.  Four of the last five of the biggest annual Domestic Box Office haul were movies about a female lead.

2017: Beauty and the Beast: 504M
2016: Star Wars: Rogue One: 532.17M
2015: Star Wars: The Force Awakens 936.62M

2014: American Sniper 350.13M
2013: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 424.67M

Wordwide, three of the last five annual winners were about a female lead.

2017: Beauty and the Beast 1.26B
2016: Captain America: Civil War 1.15B
2015: Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2.07B
2014: Transformers: Age of Extinction 1.10B
2013: Frozen 1.28B

Audiences have spoken.

Great list for the year but I'm on the fence regarding Beauty and the Beast.  I'm just nervous about the transition from animated to live action not living up to the source.

Would be nice if people could just have a conversation about something without having to push some agenda in an arrogant and/or condescending way.

You literally listed nothing of substance, more women are affected by undisclosed issues and I will never know because I'm a man. I'm not trying to be a condescending asshat, but you need to list an actual problem to warrant the feminist movement, that way we can fight it together. You cant just ignore the fact that there are no problems and cry out there is a major problem without explaining said problem.

Again, you need to list ACTUAL issues, no more walking around it.

I shouldn't have to provide a list.  Women have been giving us a list for centuries. If you truly cared to fight for them, you'd already know the list.  Google it.  Ask a women.  Anything but denying they exist or diverting to greater problems elsewhere.

Has anyone seen Beauty and the Beast?  Does it live up to its animated predecessor?
