So it's related AND unrelated? Sounds a bit confusing lol... is it anything like the whole Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross situation?

From what has been indicate sort of, its said by player who have finished it that the two stories and events are still independent of each other despite having this link.

Nah, it's good form the start and builds on something amazing and pretty mind-blowing. Esp if you completed the original. Not needed but means more.

Wait, so is the second game a story sequel to the first? I thought it was an unrelated sequel, like the Final Fantasy games, might make some references and have enemies or weapons that appear, but if it's an actual sequel I'm gonna' have to try and finish the first before I get the second o.O

Both related and unrelated. 90% of the game it's not but it is related in a very specific way revealed  at some point. I will put it in a spoiler for anyone who wants to know. Just know this is a major spoiler late in game.

It shows the war on Earth and Klaus in the space station with  the Zohar and destroys reality and creates 2 parallel universes. One reality where Shulk lives and the other where Rex lives. Klaus himself was split in half and his evil side is Zanza. Rex and Shulks adventures happen at the exact same time. For other reasons too long to get into. If Shulk killed Zanza too early it would destroy Rex's reality. There is three Aegis's. Malos, Pyra, and Alvis who is the Monando in Shulks reality. Shulk, of course, is unaware of this, because all he knows is Zanza.

Xenoblade Chronciles 2 ! The story, soundtrack and combat system are AMAZING

Got any examples for the soundtrack? I love videogame music and the soundtrack of a game is a huge selling point to me

It's technically related but also unrelated the is a link between the two games but each game still is stand alone in its events you don't need to play one to understand the other. I'm still in Chapter 4 of XBC but those who have finished the game have confirmed a link between the two games.

So it's related AND unrelated? Sounds a bit confusing lol... is it anything like the whole Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross situation?

There is a link, but it's an 11th hour thing. You can play either game first and appreciate the link in the same way once playing the game you play after. Not really more to say without spoiling.

Two field themes, a town theme, and a situational battle theme.

Hello folks i currently have $70 in eShop credit and need help picking a new game, these are my top 2 picks but feel free to suggest other games as well. Thanks!!!

my vote goes to XBC2
only cause you can get skyrim for ~10$ on PC.

skyrim is the 'better' game.. but for full price i'd say go for XBC2... if you like JRPG's.
skyrim is nice, not played it on switch.. but xeno is a treat if if you like jrpg's with all the clunky things that are in the 'formula'

Two field themes, a town theme, and a situational battle theme.

That first field theme seemed a little too over the top for, well, a field theme... not saying it's a bad song, but I think it'd fit better somewhere else. Second field theme is great, LOVE the town theme, reminds me of something from Runescape (And I LOVE the music in Runescape, lol), the battle theme actually surprised me, at first I thought it seemed a little too calm, but then it kicks in, and yeah... I'm sold on it, totally dig it! :o

Wich Xenoblade is this?

If its the original, definitly that. If it's Wii U, definitly Xenoblade X.

If it's Switch, probably Xenoblade 2.

But this is if you like JRPG's. If you prefer the realistic kind of setting, then definitly Skyrim.

Well, I've never played Skyrim, so I can't comment on that. XC2 however I got terribly addicted to that and played longer than I should. So yeah, that game's pretty good I feel...

As someone who's put 60 + hours into both, I've give the slight edge to Xenoblade 2 if only because of the price of Skyrim Switch.

In a vacuum I guess I'd slightly favor Skyrim as I prefer more of the WPRG/open world types, but Xenobalde 2 is definitely $60 well spent, and it's not often I can say that when it comes to games. You can't really go wrong with either.

Basically, if you prefer a more open world WRPG that leans more heavily on gameplay, go Skyrim (although that's not to say Xenoblade 2 isn't a deep and complex RPG, far from it).

If you prefer more of a semi-linear, story driven JRPG, go with Xenoblade.
