Sony and PSVR are the cool thing to hate... I even heard a friend saying there are plethora reports of Sony paying for ports to be downgraded on X1X

How is the saying...?! The peasants hate what they don’t understand.

Most people hate what they can't understand.

There is movie that put a good order on it... that prejudice is born out of the fear of the unkown.

After some more research, perhaps MS is right to delay VR on the X

Damning review of the $650 Samsung WMR headset bundle
https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1411061

To be fair, resolution should be fine for games, screen door is a bit concerning though.

For HP I can only find a windowscentral review
http://really.ru/news/vr-hardware/5784-hp-windows-mixed-reality-headset-review-im-a-believer.html
And even though they give it 4/5, they list plenty of problems to be sorted out.
UploadVR compares the screendoor effect of HP to that of Rift and Vive, so it seems PSVR still comes out on top for a solid picture.

Tbh I am not surprised by these mediocre reviews. Sony has many years of experience with headsets and decades of experience in optics and screen technology!

Only a fool would think third party, cheap PC producing companies would all of a sudden be able to match their experience that easily. Just as Oculus’ and Valve’s experience of course. Samsung at least has access to screen tech, of course.

Just copying Sony‘s ergonomics is only a small part of the equation. As I‘ve mentioned earlier, this move by letting third parties develop the hardware is showing lack of dedication from MS‘s side.

This gen defined the lukewarm approach of MS.

I was expecting it to do pretty good in the UK when I was bombarded with advertisements everywhere about a bundle which had a PSVR headset, camera, two Move controllers, and either Skyrim VR or Gran Turismo Sport for £249.99... I was like wow that's actually a really good deal, and I was SO tempted to pick it up, but I just don't have the room to play VR yet, so decided against it... although I'll say this; It was a hard decision to back away from!

That is a fantastic deal, try to grab it.

As long as you can sit around 6ft away from the camera you can play VR. Only those games like fighting with move controlers need "big space", the rest is quite confortable to play on a chair at a decent distance "from TV".

In the Uk I looked at dozens of websites over black friday and the standard deal was £249 for VR, Camera, VR Worlds and either GT Sport or Skyrim for £249.99. That was the deal nearly every major retailer had, and at that price was a steal as its now back up to £349 everywhere and with no additional game. Neither includes 2 move controllers, I think you were mistaken there as they tend to retail for £69.99 for a pair and would of made the deal well to undervalued.

You are probably right, but I believe on the guy that say he saw it. Perhaps that store were more aggressive or he looked wrong.

Skyrim VR patch 1.02 is out
Getting close to 60 hours play time now, it's so good in VR :)

I hope they didn't fix the glitch I ran into last night. I beheaded a silver hand enemy, didn't seem to deter him. The headless henchman kept attacking like everything was fine lol. Pretty disturbing in VR.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Update 1.02

NEW FEATURES

  • Added smooth rotation option with PS Move controllers
  • Added rotation speed for smooth rotation
  • Added option for crosshairs when using PS Move controllers for spells

  • Improved feedback for blocking

Did you check on Tesco? I hadn't checked on the site itself, but there's a big one near me which is actually great for games and stuff in comparison to the local GAME store... but the GAME store was doing the standard £249.99 bundle which you speak of, whereas the Tesco store had the exact same deal, but with a Move controller twin pack thrown in for free.

And I say it was everywhere, when in reality it was just in Tesco, but I go by it twice a day for work and they were advertising their deals outside on a big sign, so it felt like it's all I ever saw, lol.

Everywhere else, including websites, had the deal you speak of, and as I said, I hadn't checked the on the website, but yeah, this particular store was doing it, lol.

try and grab a kit for yourself.

Oh the sale is done with now, it was a Black Friday deal... maybe next year when I've got a new house and more space, lol :P

Maybe they will have Xmas deals or equivalent to boxing day.

Don't worry about the space.

I'm itching to upgrade my PSVR to the new gen.

I wouldn't worry too much about space. The width of my living room isn't all that great but PSVR works great on it. All the games I've played so far work really well just sitting down. Until dawn rush of blood you might want to get strapped in. I've had people leaning over too much in the rollercoaster sections where they have felt the gforce on bends lol

Oh you got me excited for a second, yet it's only 1v1 :/ I tried playing that in co-op yet never got past the lobby. People appeared, disappeared again, never got into an actual game. It would be fun if ST Bridge crew would add vs multiplayer, ship against ship.

Holy shit that would be amazing haha :)
