Forums - Sony Discussion - PSVR sales big boost with black friday

Nice. I think it's surprising how well Sony has been supporting the platform, so well deserved.

I kind of regret not taking advantage of the PSVR black Friday sale price in Canada.

I'm glad VR is doing good.

BTW I have just watched the first DOOM VFR gameplays on PSVR...holy shoot this is looking mint! Bethesda is killing it with their VR support atm. Kudos to them!

Which one did you watch? Ian Higton from Eurogamer does a good job at showing the game.

I'm not sure what's going on with uploadVR, they're being very critical, basically fueling a fanboy war between psvr and Vive as shown in the comments.
https://uploadvr.com/doom-vfr-review-psvr-different-kind-hell/
Yet in their live stream they don't even play with smooth rotation, snap rotation sickness abound. You should never post a review with snap rotation, it's very uncomfortable to watch in 2D as well. They don't even mention in their review that smooth rotation exists in the game.

And I assume there is no multiplayer in this? Not mentioned anywhere. There was a time Vive, PSVR and OR players happily played together, it couldn't last!

Anyway the good news is you can play with duel move (teleport style), or full movement and rotation with DS4 or AIM.
Bad news, with move you can only turn 180 degrees, so you must play standing and while sideways to the camera it can't always see the other move... Maybe they'll patch that mistake. How difficult is it to map turn to the x and o buttons.

I' have held out to now , mainly because of the Australian pricing but with the US black Friday deals I ordered the Gran Turismo  bundle  and a  quick charger bundle on amazon and even after taking into account shipping and the exchange rate the combined items work out around $100 cheaper than the standalone  kit in Australia .

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

@SvennoJ

Had watched PlayStation Access play it, but only with the Moves. Thanks for posting the Eurogamer link. Was craving for some Aim Controller gameplay.

I splurged a bit.. already had psvr, but ended up buying Skyrim VR, GT sport, Arizona sunshine, and pre-ordered Doom VFR. Also bought nier and both Wolfenstein, but I'm finding myself drawn more lately into escaping into these cool VR worlds.

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

In all honesty it seems VR replaced their handhelds segment. Too bad we don't track VR and too bad their isn't much competition for more console warz.

Very good news. I hope Sony really keep investing in VR and that all possible SW for 2018 and 2019 presents a good VR mode... and I'm looking at you GTS, patch your VR already

You know what they say about Sony dominating the market... even if they are the only one there =~p
