You are saying that $199 is new official price for 1TB model!? Pls link for such a claims.

(might only be a week long???  but it is the MSRP price currently)

https://www.playstation.com/

If you referring prices on Sony PS4 official site, they basically giving retailer prices, and every model has $299 price point except that BF deal for $199 that's out of stock. In other words, Sony did not announce new official price for PS4, this $199 is just Black Friday deal.

Yeah, the cut is just temporary.

Ps4 + bundled game will sell like hotcakes in 2018. Before another holiday cut to $199 next BF which will then likely become permanent for 2019. By then a super slim should release which will eventually go lower then $149.

With an awesome line up of exclusives and third parties in the pipeline they should be able to sell around 130m.

It is the office price from Sony for a week (November 19 to November 27, 2017).  It is not just a Black Friday deal from a retailer, but official Sony price for a week.  I have seen this price in stores that are not major retailers for electronics, such as JC Penny (manly clothes), etc...

Very much physiological barrier, because 50 isn't that much difference, but when validating the expenditure it matters.

Definitely. But It also gives you just a little bit more headroom, for a second controller or a game to go with the console.

$199 also splits nicely between two people, so you'll get an additional group of young couples, siblings, low income families with two breadwinners etc. that will bite.

Totally agree. Bring the new players.

You dont make any sense. Available means to have console at official price point, scalpers that have $100-150 higher price point compared to ofical of course don't count. In any case this is totally different situation, $199 is Black Friday deal and that's actually $100-150 lower price point from official price point, and that price is not available any more, but that doesnt mean that PS4 is generally sold out like some people assume here.

ismt it funny that when it's convenient to you you remember that the PS4 official price is $299/$350?

weren't you just saying in another thread how it's been being sold for $250 for a while now with bundles and bigger HDD?

anyways. I don't get why you are so triggered by it being generally sold out or not. if Sony shipped 1M $199 PS4s to NA for this promotion and all of them are sold out? then it means in addition to however many PS4s were sold at a higher price or pS4pro were sold.... Sony has still managed to sell well over 1M consoles for November.

The real take away here, is just how well the PS4 still stands to sell at a $199 price tag. 4 years later. just goes to show that this year may not even be its peak year after all

Not true...  The $199 is the new MSRP.  It's not just a Black Friday deal except at gamestop where that includes a $50 gift card for $199.

In a discussion that is about BF and that the deal for BF is unavailable all other can be considered above MSRP. Unless you also want to consider in a 300M country if a single Switch was being sold at MSRP it wouldn't be sold out everywhere....

BF is just a current deal, it's not official price point. And actually some people here think that PS4 is generally sold out, not only $199 version.

In any case, headline of this thread is fixed and now is more accurate.

Yes, I was saying that PS4 1TB and 1TB bundles were regulary selling at $300 and lower price point despite higher regular price point, but I dont see how this is conflicted with this $199 deal that is just for Black Friday.

I am not triggered, I just bringing a clear fact, and that is that PS4 is not generally sold out like some people thinking, and that point is that just $199 BF price tag is not any more available.

It is the official price point to this week and may be the official one for the next year or for another deal on Xmas. Still, case in point, discussion is about BF, it's clear on OP so your jabs are pointless here... weren't you the one that sweared that you didn't play down Sony and PS4?

I was curious what was going to happen at the local Mediamarkt here.

And yes, they sold exactly ZERO PS4s today.

They jacked up all prices 2-3 weeks ago, for example SW bundle $499, CoD bundle $439, other bundles $349-$379 (that's not the Pro, that's the vanilla PS4Ss). Not really surprising as other stores had good prices (including some $199 PS4s and $299 Pros).

I think you need to make clear difference between official price and current Black Friday deal (even when comes from Sony), this is just temporary Black Friday deal it want be official price. But yeah, we can say that is official price for Black Friday. :)

For unreasonable person like you every person is economy specialist. ;)

Its temporary deal for Black Friday, but yes, we can say that's official price for one model for one week also. And that's a point, it wasn't clear in OP, and actually some people thought that PS4 is generaly sold out in any case (not just for $199 price point). And I already wrote,  headline of this thread is fixed and now is more accurate. First I never swear, and second how in this case exactly I downplay Sony and PS4!?
