They better not make more Wii U ports. If there are more Wii U ports in 2018 I'm done with Nintendo for good.

Its almost certain that Switch will have more Wii U ports, so you done with Nintendo for good right away.

Smash Port is probably coming, prepare yourself and try not to overreact. As long as you get games you want to play does it really matter? The existence of a port doesn't mean everything else doesn't exist.

At this point Smash 5 is definitely possibilite, I mean they can merge hole content from Smash Wii U and 3DS, bring some new content also and call that Smash Bros 5.

they better not port smash 4, it was on 3ds and wiiu thats enough

I'd argue it's the one WiiU game that needs a Switch "GOTY" version the most. If you wanted all the Smash 4 content you needed to buy the 3DS version, the WiiU version, and a bunch of DLC. I think a single game bringing all that stuff together would be great.

I'm really excited to see what Retro has been working on, I just hope it's not anything based on multiplayer like diddy kong racing or f-zero. Nothing against those games, but they are really not my thing and Retro is probably my favourite studio working today.
Aside from that, i'm also hoping to see the next Fire Emblem and No More Herores 3, and maybe some footage of Metroid Prime 4.
Really looking forward to the January direct, but i'm also kind of afraid of being dissapointed...

I'm not really excited for the Switch's line-up next year myself, I guess because I don't know for sure which games are coming out, and I don't know if the games I will really want like Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Super Smash Bros., F-Zero or a horror game are going to come.

You're not wrong.. Who can be excited for a lineup which hasn't been shown yet.

I used to buy Nintendo consoles but their lineups just get and more samey to me and I'm less and less interested in the Mario, Zelda, etc. rehashes. I played Zelda on Switch and it just seemed like a more annoying open world. Mario I haven't been impressed with since N64 honestly. Just don't get where all the praise comes from. AC Origins seems like a way better open world than Zelda so far.

I agree 2018 has some potential.

- Yoshi, Kirby and Fire Emblem
-Octopath traveler
- Teased No More Heroes
- Teased Persona game
- Possibly new Retro Studios game
- Possiblty next Next Level Games game :P
- Likely a new 2D Mario or Smash Port
- Teased game form Platinum Games
- More content form reclutant 3rd parties

This reminds me of when people say "the 3 Persona games"

They're both jRPGs so it's an honest mistake ;)

So what Nintendo IPs do you want or wouldn't consider rehash?  They only have a few "major" IPs that they have neglected such as F Zero and Advance Wars.  You waiting for the next Excite Truck?

You have a Kirby and Yoshi game probably in the first half of the year, that is the only thing we know for sure will land from Nintendo themselves. I feel next year will be the true start of Nintendo pulling back from the current break neck scheduling which will be a good thing for Nintendo and its third parties as 2-3 months between major Nintendo releases will allow for other titles to breathe.

Mostly new games - no WiiU port. that time has gone!

Switch!!!
