Yes the accuser herself apparently has told Kotaku in an interview that after the shower incident she proceeded to have a "physical relationship" with this Malka guy and they then broke up around E3. Her story sounds pretty fishy if that's the case.

I wonder if he will turn around and try to sue her for damages.

Indeed. The bottom line is, if she had a physical relationship with the guy after he allegedly assaulted her, then it looks very bad on her part.

It's not really a crime to cheat, but putting that aside, her story doesn't really make sense. If she was so offended why would she then willingly proceed to have a relationship for several weeks with said person? IMO it sounds like they hooked up, had a relationship for a few weeks, it went south, and now she's bitter about it.

Yes.

Over a third of women and a fourth of men have been raped, assaulted or harrased on intimate relationships. There can be duress, blackmail and abuse of power involved, it's a very complex issue. Add simply being coerced into a relationship and something like 50% of both sexes have experienced it at least once. Not to mention up to 90% case of sexual abuse are estimated not to be reported even on developed countries, while false accusations ammount to less than 10% on every credible study - less than 1% of all accusations, according to some. All of these statistics are easily and readily available on many papers you can find on the internet.

At the same time it's clear the woman is extremely uncomfortable and afraid after the whole situation while he, who already formerly covered for a pedophile mod and bragged about grabbing another woman's ass, reacted extremely poorly with the obvious results we're seeing so far. People who are calling him out for it aren't doing so on "emotional rhetoric" alone as someone mentioned.

OT - That being said, it seems like he might bring the site back while axing off-topic discussions, so combined with the remaining members and new mods who are a-OK with the reputation of its owner,  NG could be a much different, if somewhat smaller, community on the future.

It's clear that some of you live in a feminist/CNN bubble. I pity you.

Hmm. I guess I'll pipe in for a bit on Feminism. Feminism is a social movement and it's original goal was for equality for women. Because it's a movement and not a definition for "belief in women's equality" or "belief in equality of the sexes", it changes over time just like how any other movement changed over time because the people that organized them changed out or goals were accomplished, etc. There's a lot of literature about feminism being a movement and how it changed over the years hence the 1st wave feminism, 2nd wave feminism, etc.

I believe that feminism is purely a movement and that as a movement it can deviate from or hurt the overall goal of the movement (I believe that it did). I think that's what alot of "anti-feminists" or regular people are basically saying in their criticisms about feminism of today.

I believe in actual equality as in everyone having a equal or near equal chance at something regardless of their race, creed, sexuality or sex except in certain cases. I don't believe in giving a woman a job because she's a woman (except for certain jobs) or because there's not enough women in some given job. The only thing they're entitled to is an equal shot for a position as anyone else. That's what equality is. I believe that alot of the leaders or voices of feminism of today aren't interested in my sort of equality because it would take away any advantages they have at being a woman while correcting anything on the flip side of it. I agree that people get hung up on the terminology of it all and it turning into a shitshow without getting to the meat of it.

Honestly, you bring up good points. Not much I can honestly respond with

Honestly, that's the last response I expected.

Why are you guys still taking the thread off-topic for? As mods have said before, it’s about neogaf falling apart, not this political bs. I’m not a political person myself and I don’t appreciate having political thrown in my face when the current topic isn’t about that.

Im not trying to be rude but it’s kinda annoying reading a thread and then having you guys talk political.

There was a mod warning?

CGI-Quality said:
As for the continued political (off topic) posts, Carl gave the Warning long ago and some continue to ignore it. So, I'm backing it up, here. After this, I'll unfortunately have my own moderations to tackle. Please be mindful of his request and keep it to the Neogaf Discussion.

~ Thanks guys.

Sorry, I didn't see the warnings.

And i don't believe her because they were in a road trip of two, behind her boyfriends back presumably getting drunk together and ended up having a relationship after.

So, no, i don't think it's that clear cut. If it was just him misdjudging the situation, why did they hook up later? It doesn't make sense.

Does it make sense to you to go and have a physical relationship with the person that "sexually harassed you"? This story is undoubtibly alot more than it appears.

Do we have proof of this?

Yes. It's on the Kotaku article. She herself said it.

Edit: Realised someone already told you that. Nvm!

So oldGAF is expected to go back up tonight and at the same time a rival site will also go up. Should be an interesting week.

How dare you link us to Vice? If I wanted a spin, I'd have done donuts in the parking lot.

Watch me stream games and hunt trophies on my Twitch channel!

I think NeoGaf will survive so long as they get it back up soon and focus more on games, which the Malka guy said. The angry admins who left can start a rival board, but all the sales data and tons of past history are archived through NeoGaf, and that's all owned by the Malka guy.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Too political of a response so I edited myself.
