I believe every accusation should be taken seriously. Why doubt every person and think they're lying?

If he is lying, then we can simply move on. If he's saying the truth, then it'll be one of many sexual assaults that have been hidden for far too long

I agree that every accusation should be taken seriously but there's such a thing as due process. You can't just take their word for it and form a lynch mob. It has to be investigated and proven true before you treat a person as guilty. If he's lying about this for whatever reason, he should be sued for defamation/damages and sent to jail for falsifying a report of sexual assualt/rape.

I'm not a mob-mentality type, and you know that well.

People should not attack anyone accused of rape. I wouldn't want to be lynched by others because a woman or man accused me of raping them.

I think implementing harsh rape laws would stop liars. Make the punishment equivalent to what the accused would have gone through, along with severe fines. This however should only be if it's the accuser being caught intentionally lying.

Well, you sign up for a company named "Naughty Dog", what do you expect?

In poor taste? Probably...

Hmmm I can agree with that.

True. As I said before, we could likely agree on some issues on a case by case basis.

I don't wanna defend Sony if the allegations are true, but a $20,000 settlement is pretty small. Big companies often offer as much just to avoid the legal fees of a drawn out defense whether they did anything wrong or not. It's fairly standard and not much of an indicator.

So.... just like pretty much every other video game studio on the planet. I've slept under my desk more than one occassion. It's the norm for the industry, not the exception.

Nope not at all, well not in the UK anyway. I've heard stories that it used to happen in the UK perhaps 20 years ago, but these days, what with employment laws etc. I've seen people do crazy 7 day weeks, 12 hour+ days, but not sleeping at the desk. Some people are crazy and actually enjoy doing the hours and stay way longer than everyone else, thats more of a problem with that individual than the company.

I can assure you that many studios North America still does things this way, and by that I mean "No one leaves until we get a stable build with these features up for QA to test". I'm not talking about 1-2 people sleeping at their desks. I'm talking about entire teams.

I'm not sure he didn't say but does it really matter?

It would matter to me.

Why?

As things stand, from all the info I've heard so far, I'm still taking a 'wait and see' approach because as it stands I can't believe either side of the party. I'd hope for this to be not true, because I expect better from Naughty Dog.
