Forums - Nintendo - Half a year later... (Switch Fails Revisited)

I have the left Joy-Con issue on the pair that came with the console. It will sometimes not react properly if something is between the Joy-Con and the console. Other than that, no issues. And to be honest I vividly remember that some people were just fear mongering in a very obvious way.

So it's been about half a year since the Switch launched and we got this video of Switch fails

https://youtu.be/Cb-srOfRqNc

A lot of us were afraid. The Switch dock was scratching the screen. The console was overheating. The Joycons weren't syncing. It was a disaster in the making...or was it?

Did any of you experience any issues? Did your Switch give you AIDS? Was it all blown out of proportion? Discuss.

holy cow... switch give you AIDS????????????????????????????????????????

*put on my bug-catching jock and buying a switch!

The Switch Pro controller's D-pad feels wonky even though I only got it a month ago. Other than that I had no problems.

I also sorta cracked my screen but that was me not being careful

Dude!!

Oh its not that bad You can only see it if you look for it. I can play and not see it.  Accidents happen.

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Since I got my Switch

-Screen Protector has been scratched from the Dock, but it doesn't really bother me as its in the bezel and on my screen protector.

-Switch had frozen on me a couple times in the very early life, but hasn't come up again for a few months.

-Joycon's that came with the launch console sometimes still get radio interference and don't respond sometimes. (I got myself two blue ones which have no issues after Nintendo "fixed" the issue by adding the foam, along with a pro controller which I use instead when not in handheld mode)

I really don't care about any of the issues above. As I still enjoy playing games on my Switch.

Bought one back in May and I haven't got any of the problems listed on the video, thankfully, but I do have "scanlines" on the screen. And I say "scanlines" because they supposedly don't happen on LCD screens, but what I see produces pretty much the same effect: thin horizontal lines, almost traslucent, that appear when there's motion or when my eyes move across the screen. It's like flickering, but not as annoying, and they vanish after 30-60 minutes, or at least they soften, but the first 15 minutes are just unbearable.

I'm sending my Switch in for repair next week.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The analog stick on my right joy-con was mess up after about of month of usage. Even if I wasn't touching it, the camera for some games and menu selection were moving to the right, it wasn't bad at first (it fixed by itself from time to time) but after a while, games became unplayable. It wasn't desync since using the control track thingy of the system menu never stopped working even if I moved far away from the console, it was just getting stuck on the right.

Had to replace the right joy-con.

Other than that I had no issues whatsoever.

Nintendo and PC gamer

I got my Switch on launch day and I've never had a single problem. No lock-ups. No screeching. No scratching. But that doesn't mean the problems don't exist.

My Switch has been 100% fine. I haven't played it much though. Maybe 25 hours. So, it is really much too soon for me to render an opinion.

I put a screen protector on it  as soon as I started playing it.
