Well, it's a reflection of how small the PS fanbase is here so it would make sense to attract them. GameFAQs is exactly the same - its number of registered users online has halved over the past 5 years and that's mostly a Nintendo forum as well.

6 Nintendo topics vs 2 Sony topics atm.

Maybe you could take making more Sony topics into your own hands instead of posting in the multiple Nintendo topics. You could be the savior of the Sony community on this site. Wouldn't that be so nice?

Pay people to join.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Make me a mod.

I guess there's the risk/reward of that!

1) better/more consistent software/hardware tracking. Most people here were pulled in from the numbers.

2) revamp the spam/ads so that they aren't so fucking intrusive and website breaking on mobile.

3) ????

Profit.

I agree with points 1 and 2.  I doubt there's much profit to be made here though.

I started coming here about 3 years ago because the site was mentioned often in articles on other sites. 100% of the mentions were about the sales numbers here. The site is never mentioned anywhere anymore, because its main focus has been lost. I think it is a near certainty that this site has started a slow death spiral that will pick up speed if the numbers don't become a priority again soon.

More consistent moderation, harder crackdown on trolls/flamers and generally obnoxious behaviour
rewrite of the site so it doesn't suck and without so many intrusive ads
more frequent or at least consistent updating of stats.

But most of those 1300 will simply be people that happen to click on a link while searching for something, don't make the mistake of thinking most of them are browsing the site.

Perhaps we could be kinder to each other, rather than find ways to ridicule each other and their favorite companies/ developers? Sometimes I see comments that insult others or just paints things in a negative light, or threads derail in a hostile way where I don't even really wanna step in anymore. That's a problem I encounter sometimes where I... just don't want to bother anymore.

There.

I've found this to be among the tamest forums I've ever come across. There doesn't need to be more moderation. Certainly, there is always room for people to be nicer. But, that needs to happen naturally, not by gestapo tactics.

I do not know how you can get more people to join aside from keeping the charts up to date but a way you can keep users such as myself is by adding an ignore user feature (if it does not already exist). There are two people I would prefer to never see any posts from ever again and I avoid using this site from time to time simply to avoid seeing said users. Not that they bully me or anything, just that I prefer not to have to actively remember who I am ignoring so I do not respond by accident.
