Forums - Sales - Tekken 7 Sales Exceed 1.6 Million Units Worldwide

And yet according to Vgchartz it's only sold that amount at 820,000 copies.

See it's because of things like this that the site died off so much. What's the point in paying attention to its sales when they're off by 50%?

Usually at earnings reports the numbers they offer are shipment numbers, and it also includes digital. And the PC version is basically 100% digital.

So while Im not saying that VGC has gotten the number right(and remember, the numbers are also late, as of now we have only up to mid June is terms of sales), but its possible that its not wrong either.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Modest numbers. Tekken deserves a lot more. But it seems Injustice and MK games are the mainstream fighting games these days, both of which I hate.

I hope we get SC 6 announcement soon, SC 5 flopped so bad it makes me fearful for the future of the series.

Great to see a resurgence in fighting games, Tekken, ARMS and Ultra Street fighter have sold great. Hopefully Pokken pulls in good numbers

Seems underwhelming to me considering it launched on PC/PS4/XB1.

That's rather weak, if I'm honest, Tekken sure has seen better days commercially.

On PC max settings on a 4k tv, this game is freaking breathtaking. One of my personal favorite perchases since Xenoblade X.

They're not off by 50%, they're just 2 months late.

Granted that's not a lot better, but still.

1. VGC is behind like 2 months

2. Those are only physical and not digital sales.

No, this number is only from the first quarter of FY2017/18 (1st April - 30th June).
VGChartz is 2 weeks away from this 1.6M units sold worldwide, he is right that VGChartz is undertracking this game.

Good number for Tekken 7, glad to see it selling well! Hopefully it will have good legs over the rest of the year!

I'm not familiar with fighting games but... does this mean SSB is the number 1 selling fighting game in the industry? Seems crazy to me. Nintendo games usually don't pull that off outside of platformers.

They haven't even updated Tekken tag 2's numbers. The game sold 1.35m from April - Dec 2012(https://www.polygon.com/2013/2/5/3955360/tekken-tag-tournament-2-sold-1-3m-copies-worldwide-in-9-months) but its lifetime sales according to Vgchartz is only 1.37m across all platforms. It's been five years already lol.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Smash is the best-selling current fighting game, in fact I think it's been that way for a while (don't remember any fighting game outselling Brawl back in the day). Also, you might wanna say outside of platformers and JRPGs.

Isn't FF still the best selling JRPG?
