I'd buy WNBA Live... If they have bikini DLC. As it stands, I'm just buying NBA 2K18 because it's on the Switch. I'm actually considering getting the EA game.

Don't. Seriously. They're fucking awful. I wish they weren't, because 2K has been getting a bit lazy, and far too microtransaction happy with their games lately, but EA's basketball games are just straight up trash in comparison. They could give NBA Live away for free at launch, and it still wouldn't gain traction on 2K games.

I haven't bought a realistic NBA game since like Live 97! Even when they gave away 2K16 or whatever, I downloaded it, didn't play it, and deleted it. My penis controls a lot of my purchases. I'm just getting the game on Switch to make my coworkers jealous. It might be fun, though.

Yeah... pretty sure 0.1% of the population is going to play with WNBA teams. Another empty, token gesture made by a conglomerate company to try to sway public opinion. Not impressed.

I think you guys are over analyzing.

WNBA doesent have enough following to justify its own big budget sports games but its a unique feature in an existing product. I mean how much resouces did it take to add this? I assume not much.

So yeah, chill out. Most importantly though, the game needs to be better.

Actually it needs to be a whole lot better but even with them taking another year off I doubt it will.  They took a three year break between Live 10 and 14 and came back with the worst game in the franchise.

NBA Live 15 was terrible (55 metascore) and 16 wasn't that much better (59 metascore).  Last time Live was even close to being as good as any 2K basketball game was NBA Live 2005.

I enjoyed NBA Live 15 and 16 more than NBA 2K15 and NBA 2K16.

I wouldn't say more personally, but as a  guy who only sometimes plays NBA games nowadays (played quite a bit of NBA Live 99 and 2000) I don't see a huge difference between 2K and Live. Yeah 2K has a story mode, but the writing and acting in 2k16 was just so hilariously bad and over the top that it barely matters.

Definitely can't see why one has a 30 points higher Metascore. They are not that far apart.

Well the 2K games are always graphically superior to the Live games and that goes back to the begining of the franchise on the Dreamcast.

As long as it doesn't bloat up the size of the file even more, I could care less

That's good but too bad it was on live and not 2K

One of the reasons why I hate EA's exclusive deal with the NFL. First off, why is it still called "Madden" and second off, I think 2K produced a better game.

You can blame the NFL for that one. The NFL offered up exclusivity to the highest bidder.

EA just added WNBA to add niche audience who like women leagues like Fifa 18 adding women national teams.
still good add-on for those who wanted it. Hope NBA Live can get some sales and be more competitive this time around.
