I'm caving. I'm gonna get a Switch 2 next month so I can get Donkey Kong Bananza with it.

this is the first time i have encountered somebody who’s younger than me on this site! Lol. Everyone here is in the 30s and up, I feel like.
Also, on the topic of 3D Mario, didn’t somebody from Nintendo come out saying to expect news “very soon”? They pulled a similar stunt in April 2023, which was followed by the reveal of Mario Wonder in June. I’m thinking Nintendo will either (i) release 3D Mario alongside the new movie next spring OR (ii) they repeat Mario Wonder’s release cycle & drop 3D Mario in late-October 2026.
Just a quick thing to note Switch 2 has a default setting of 120hz turned on, many TVs only allow 1080p or 1440p when this is active so the result is your Switch 2 may only be outputting 1080p even if a game doesn't support 120hz. Turn this this off if you're unsure if your TV only allows 1080p with this setting to get your Switch 2 to start outputting higher resolutions.

Its set to automatic on mine. I can choose 720p or 1080p, but not higher resolutions. So I think the Switch 2 already knows what my TV can do.

Auto is fine it'll upscale higher than 1080p by itself.

Oooh that likely explains why the 4K Mario Bros 1-1 minigame in Welcome Tour wouldn't let me play it since it had that setting on. I'll try again to see if that changes anything.
Thanks !

Again: The OST in this game is incredible!! This might just be my favorite video game OST of all time. The amount of tracks and their quality is unlike anything I’ve seen in my entire time playing games.
