So there won't be physical releases of ANY first party Switch 2 games? If this is a belated April Fools joke it's not funny.

Nintendo games for Switch 2 will be released on game cards, just like on Switch.

A game-key card is just a piece of plastic with a verification code in it, no game data whatsoever.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

How you get to that conclusion? Do you know what are game-key cards?

I thought they were the same as Switch 2 Gamecards. This is the first I've heard the term game-key cards.

Think of those code in a box releases. Just that the code is on a cart.

That's just gonna encourage people to get the digital versions of some games.

I wonder if we'll get Mario odyssey at 120fps or of its just gonna be 4k/60fps.

The consequences of losing physical media would be astronomical. -_-

Because they didn't make it for themselves.

So who exactly was it made for? I mean Switch 1 already has code in box on physical releases. What does this do for anyone?

Are you confused?

We had a whole generation of Switch and you could see which publishers shipped nothing but a code in a box. That was never Nintendo themselves. The game-key cards are only here to replace those codes, so it actually gives people more physical ownership.
