Probably too many songs in MKW for them to go through

Yeah the TGAs suck; they're primarily a vehicle for obnoxious advertising, and the same kind of pretentious wankery as the Oscars.

Nintendo's games don't really fit with their "games are serious art dude" mentality.

I would say TGA is only good for game reveals, but honestly I think it has not even been good for that in the last years. When was the last time you people felt really excited about a game reveal at TGA?

The Game Awards has basically become a winter, weaker version of E3 - All anybody cares about are the reveals/world premieres. The actual awards themselves are a total afterthought.

And the winners are chosen by a narrow selection committee instead of by the gaming public.

I mean ... There's a public GOTY award you can vote for really.

Hum, it's usually really not good lol.

MKWorld not being nominated for Best OST at TGA is making it very difficult for me to take this award show seriously. I cannot believe one of the greatest OSTs in video game history just got snubbed in the category it should’ve won.

Weirdly I've not really gotten attached to MKW's music in the same way I did MK8. Might be a case of there being so much of it, over 200 tracks and it changes based on location so I guess when you're doing the frequent in-between point to point races the music changes a lot. Less repetition means it's not embedded in my mind like I know Cloudtop Cruise has a banger tune. I know there'll be an absolute ton of great music in it, but none of it has stuck with me yet.

Less repetition is likely a good reason as to why happens. Also, long term exposures can't be understated. MK8 had a lasting legacy of over a decade as the main MK game

And with much more content for around the same price as Mario Kart World. Better roster too. Who honestly wanted to play as Peebo, Cheep Cheep or Cow?

MKW music didnt make a huge impression on me.

I think that music just hits more when it is combined with narrative. When its just background music it just doesn't have the same impact.
