I found this funny lol. Honestly though, I haven’t even had enough time MarioKart World! Let alone all the other releases.

If anything it's starting to look more Xbox has no games.

I'd get Mario Kart World if it had more content to justify the big price tag.

Also, seems Nintendo has (temp) walked back the price hike on Zelda TotK Sage Amiibo, for anybody interested in grabbing them. I remembering being so upset that they never released a Tulin Amiibo back when I was obsessed with TotK (May - Oct 2023)…and then they finally did! But once I saw the $30USD price tag, I said, “Yeah… I don’t think that’s worth the price” and I was back to being upset. Now that it’s back down to normal pricing, I can finally say that I have purchase the Tulin amiibo nearly 2.5y later. :)

Late to the President of NoA convo, but I also feel the cult of personality around Reggie is a bit misplaced.

He had charisma, but he also made some poor calls like not localising Xenoblade/The Last Story/Pandora's Tower/Fatal Frame 2 and as such leaving the Wii's just two years in the US quite dry.

Regarding Bowser, I feel like he was just kind of "there" and never struck me as particularly good or bad. Aside from the name, he was quite forgettable.

Devon having been with the company since 2006 is a good sign, and the Bulborb is a nice touch. Here's hoping she does a good job. Predictably, the most annoying people on the internet are going apeshit over the fact she's a woman.

Doug Bowser is stepping down from NoA as of December 31st, 2025. Very short tenure compared to Reggie. I wonder why? I’m hoping its for the best, he was nowhere near as publicly present nor consumer friendly as Reggie, who infamously fought with Miyamoto for Wii Sports to be packed with every Wii system.

Reggie has been idolized because he happened to hold the job when Nintendo rose back to market leadership with the Wii, but he actually wasn't remotely close to being great. Bowser's lower public presence was a positive, because we didn't need to hear from NoA when virtually all important decisions have always been made in Japan. Today's Directs with Japanese personnel doing the talking while being subbed is more appropriate than Reggie or Bill Trinen leading the presentations in the past. Reggie said a lot of stupid things in interviews during the 3DS and Wii U era.

As for consumer-friendliness or the lack thereof, Reggie was the cause for Operation Rainfall because he refused to publish three first party games in North America. Three games that were going to have English translations anyway, because they were going to be released in Europe. As for Wii Sports being a pack-in or not, it's doubtful that it would have mattered much, because it isn't hard to buy a console and a game separately. There's a narrative that the Wii might have not succeeded if it hadn't been for a bundle, but that doesn't hold up under scrutiny.

In any case, I'd rather have a Bowser successor who remains mostly invisible like Bowser than a loudmouth like Reggie. Because chances are that attention-seeking executives say stupid things, be it Reggie, Spencer or Ryan.

Yeah, I think Reggie was and is very overrated. His PR work was good, having a president that talks to us is good, but he just really didn't strike as charismatic to me, his charisma always felt very forced, it was nothing compared to Iwata's charisma. Remember, Iwata was a gamer and a developer, Reggie was just a business man just like Bowser. A better business man, if we go by their Nintendo careers, but a business man nonetheless.

Anyone here try Virtual Boy on NSO + Expansion Pass?

I want to play it, but I don't want to waste $100 for it. I wonder if it's going to be possible to play without the VB accessory, since we apparently can play it using a cardboard.

I'm excited for the first female president of NoA, and the Bulborb gives me hope she will be better at the job than both Bowser and Reggie.
