Don't forget the system should have a UHD Blu Ray drive and a HDDVD drive!

If you could make it be $150 too that'd be great, other wise it's no day one from me Nintendo!

Add in Steam compatability, turn it into a tower, add a monitor, mouse, and keyboard too. Day one from me as well!

As long as they can keep the price in line with the 2DS I'm really behind this new Nintendo machine... as long as it can also play Xbox 1 and PS4 games upscaled to 8k

Yeah, Nintendo asking for more than $150 is just selfish

I really can't believe they would have the nerve to ask more than that for a console which has it's own screen and has been shown to be capable of ports of PS4/X1 games.

I hope they include a 4k TV with the PRO model too, I'm sick of Nintendo leaving out of essential things like the 3ds charger from the models to keep the price low, I want the system with everything I need to enjoy it!!

But can we certainly say that the general consumer doesn't want to use the Switch as a portable?

Nope, but you also can't say with any certainty that they do want to use it as a portable.

It's funny though, see so many people claiming the Switch is great solely because of it's portability. I wonder if those people thought the NES/SNES/N64/GC/Wii/WiiU were all crap because of their lack of portability then. Probably not...

Portability makes it my favorite in terms of hardware. Software looks promising too, but let's wait and see

Not gonna challenge you. Just gonna say the Gamecube controller was missing a few things the other controllers had (analog buttons, L3/R3, four shoulder buttons, a "select" button) but that right C-section stick functioned as well as any other analog stick.

Carry on.

Ah, yes, the old Caesarean stick.  Surprised that never caught on with gamers.  Could have been the birth of something special.

My phone. I swear it makes me look like a fool every chance it gets. Always adding extra words in an attempt to predict what I'm about to say.

Maybe it's time you should use your C-Section stick on your predictive text cache? :D

What's your point? The same applies to every other console?

My point is that while the portability may well be a decisive factor for some, there are plenty of people that just want to play Nintendo games at home and that couldn't care less about the portability. They were happy with previous Nintendo home consoles, so there's no reason to think they'd completely lose interest in the Switch if there were a non-portable version.

Were they really happy with the Wii U? Also, remember that many gamers bought a Nintendo home console AND a portable console next to each other. Even if it wasn't you, theredefinitely were a lot of these folks. Now they only have to buy one. That's a great thing.

Also, you can just buy a fucking Switch and never take it out of the dock. Problem solved. Oh, you want one with more power? You and everyone else with this desire act like the Switch games look like they came straight from the 90's. Holy cow, there's more to gaming than shiny shiny. Now you will say that it's not wrong to wish for better graphics, which is true, yes. But it's no reason to pretend like everything looks like shit, either.

nothing new..I'm used stupid request and conclusions being draw on gaming forums. I'm also used to seeing them argue what they think are smart points and the people that take them on I find even funnier.

Nope, I'm one of those that wants home console only Switch so it can be cheaper due to not having to pay for the screen, battery, joycons etc. Couldn't care less about graphics, cost however...

I do agree that only having to buy one console instead of two is a great thing though. Just wish it didn't incur an extra cost for features I don't want

Well, in that case I could show you some interesting ways of investing your moneyz so that one day you can spend the cash for a Switch. *whispers* Ever heard of ... salt dispensers? Gaming forums need an awful lot of 'em, I tell ya. But it's a secret to everybody!
