No complaining from me. Been a Metroid fan since the beginning, and I couldn't have been happier with the announcements. It's been a LONG wait.

I wanted 2D Metroid, so getting "3D on 2D plane on the 3DS" is sort of a "Okay, I guess that will do" rather than bouncing off the walls.

Especially with 3DS, that system is so outdated, it can't even handle a 3D Metroid game with decent graphics. They should have gone 2D

My point is to argue against the claim that I had terrible taste for being much more into Metroid and Metroid 2 than the later Metroid sequels and spinoffs.

While I'm not defending the guy that told you that liking Metroid 2 is "terrible taste" (telling someone that they have terrible taste just for liking a game is universally one of the least productive ways of debating ever), responding by claiming that it's impossible to even consider Super Metroid or Prime as some of the best games of their time has to be one of the most backwards ways of countering a silly argument that I've ever seen.

Mine's more a general "abandon the 3DS and move onto the Switch" at this point. I liked my 3DS, but it is hard seeing new games on such dated hardware in 2017.

Would have been nice to get some gameplay footage, but just knowing that a game in the same style as the Prime trilogy is coming to an HD nintendo system is great. I'm excited to see how they'll expand the concept after what has been done with Zelda and Mario this year.

Metroid 2 remake is fine. I think it'll look better on the 3DS screen in person than it did during the treehouse.
