Microsoft can do anything they want basically because they have money. I wouldn't be suprise if Microsoft doesn't buy a major ip out and make it exclusive in the future. They already bought gears and minecraft ip this generation.

I seriously doubt Destiny 2 runs at 60 fps on Scorpio.  What are they gonna do at that point?  Put the XB1 30fps group in separate lobbies from the Scorpio 60fps group for MP matches?

I also tried to estimate how many Steam users already have a GPU faster than the Scorpio (counting any GPU faster than a GTX 980 / GTX 1060 / R9 390X / RX 580) and I came up with about 5% of the Steam users. It's only 4,8% in the chart below, but the GTX 1080 Ti numbers are still missing and it should have a much bigger impact than the Titan X numbers due to a much better price-performance ratio)... that should be around 11 million PCs if the SteamSpy-estimate of 230 million Steam accounts ain't totally wrong:

The growth of the PS4 Pro in the same time frame is a very rough estimate based on the "one fifth of the total PS4 sales since Pro launch" info... that would mean the number of PC-GPUs faster than a Scorpio is growing twice as fast than the growth of the PS4 Pro base.

So PC already has a head start of 9 million compared to the PS4 Pro and of 11 million compared to the Scorpio. Until the Scorpio launches in half a year the gap to PS4 Pro will probably get bigger and the headstart compared to Scorpio will be at least 15 million.

LOL, perception.  Its stealing when it's MS and its good business when its Nintendo or Sony.  I guess that is the hurdle MS must overcome in order to gain some gamers support.

Of course it's going to be a shit storm if they money hat a third party. You are taking a game away from the largest audience. I would stay away from them if I were MS. It will be a PR nightmare similar to Tomb Raider.

People keep focusing on one thing or another (games vs graphics vs price). The best selling system tends to have the best balance of all these things. In this generation, PS4 was far and away better than the competition on all three fronts.

So yeah, people were touting the graphics on message forums. But the real reason the Playstation brand has continued to succeed is because it tries to deliver on all fronts.

Still, I am interested to see the power gap this new XBox will bring to the console market.

MS gives money to a 3rd party to stop releasing the game on other platforms. I call this stealing, they can fund their game, not buy it and take it from other consumers

If gamers really cared they would look to the developer first.  As always gamers only care about themselves and never care about the health of the developer and why they would make such a move.  Its never that black and white that MS is taking something away.  At the end of the day, the fallout was turned more towards Crystal then MS so I do not see them staying away at all.
