Forums - Sales - Switch Software Is Dominating Amazon

Exactly my reaction lol.

Lol. Maybe I exaggerated some, but my main point is we just have no idea. Since we don't have anything to compare with, it makes the PSN card sales almost a mute point. Interesting that some European countries require the cards though. With PS4 popularity there it would explain some of those sales. Also with PS4 market penetration right now, I'm sure there is a culture of gift PSN card purchases from friends and family on top of regular purchases. This is also sure to change as Switch market penetration increases.

Since im too lazy to check the charts. Is the Switch software still dominating?

Currently the top 5 is all psn cards.  The highest actual game is Tekken at #6.

Wow, congrats Nintendo. I have been impressed with the software it's gotten so soon after launch, much better than the Xbone and PS4 launches. Almost make me regret flipping mine.

Speaking of regret, I'm sure there's a long line of third party publishers feeling some for not having some software ready.

I find it hilarious how people act like it's a Switch game and all those people are suddenly huge Nintendo fans, while us with Wii Us had been waiting on it since 2013.

As someone who played it on Wii U, I see how well it runs on Switch and I read how they changed the story to scrap their plans for the GamePad and I think, once upon a time this was a Wii U game, but it was released as a Switch game ported to Wii U.

Well Switch is the new hot item these days, Switch and Ps4 are literally on fire.

And now FF12 is sitting at 4th, surrounded by PSN cards to the left and right, and Tekken at 7th. With the PS4 blue controller at 8th.

With the black controller (ps4 pro, you can see the little light) sitting at 16th.

Ps4 controller domination?

Someone needs to make a playstation is dominating amazon thread fast!

I know that, but releasing at the same time makes it no port for me, as it obviously was developed together. Persona 5 for PS4 is a port for you too, because as you know it's a PS3 game. What is with COD and stuff like that, if we don't know which version is lead?

Zeruda BotW is a port, just because you paid $300 for a new system doesnt make it any less of a port, I know you're trying to justify your money spent so I understand you taking issue with the term "port" but it's a Wii U game.

Its a game held back by the Wii U, but since it launched on both platforms at the same time, it is no port.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Sorry, I take no offense to the term port, as you think. I just have obviously a different meaning to the term. For me Persona 5 and Zelda BOTW are multiplats, for you these games are ports in the version for PS4 and Swittch. Whatever makes you happy. Port in my understanding is some platform added after release, but whatever makes you happy. I only mouthed that I obviously have a different understanding of the words and have the word multiplat in my vocabulary. I didn't intended to offend you by having a slightly different vocabulary, I only voiced the difference I saw.

Also you have to understand, that I'm a software developer (not games though) and every team so far that released a software on multiple platforms the same time has developed the game for all supported platforms in the same codebase at the same time, so it is impossible to identify the lead platform. So porting for me is adding the support of a new pplatform after completion of the software. I don't know if Atlus targeted PS3 or PS4 internally with Persona or if they did these version on the same codebase. I assume the last, as developing separate codebases for different platforms is most of the time a pretty stupid decision. Same for BOTW, I don't know if WiiU, Switch or both were main. Hence my choice of words.

This said, I respect your choice of words and also your assumption without more knowledge, that PS3/WiiU were main.
