Which social features does steam not have that PSN/XBL has? Just curious...

All the crap you use free 3rd party software for like party chat.
Steam doesn't have Youtube and Netflix etc apps either.

However PSN and XBox Live don't have anything like Steam workshop. Steam is the real gaming network.

But steam can do party chat... As well as plenty of other things like live broadcasting and etc... Not sure what youtube and netflix has to do with anything cause those are both third party...

So Sony even has them beat in active online users? Geez, this generation is just as one sided as the N64/PS1 gen.

Microsoft hate is soooooo 2013.

Well tbf they said they that the biggest social media was before Sony released their numbers and Steam really isn't a gaming social media doesn't really have as much social features as PSN and XBL.

PSN has a cimmunity feature that you make groups of a specific game or anything like anime ect and it has a way to communicate with each other share Screenshots, clips and broadcast and XBL has the same features called clubs. They also have a way to search for people to play with to complete a achievement or just to play. They also have activity feeds to see you're friends clips, broadcast, screenshots and their post in communities/clubs. There's also party chat.

Steam also allows you to make a community like that which has those functionalities... Steam also has ways to see activity feeds of what your friends are doing and the ability to do broadcasts and etc... Steam also has party chat...

Last gen it was behind the paywall on 360. I didn't know there was party chat integrated with Steam, I only have 1 Steam friend with 5 hour time difference :/

Anyway somehow XBox Live is seen as social and Steam isn't according to MS? Maybe Steam doesn't count as it's free to use. That whole presentation was about milking users. Nadella mentioned that Xbox Live is the biggest gaming social network, and monetizes far more than any other gaming social network. They include 500m windows 10 users in their social gaming network, still only 25% of Facebook though.

They lied very often, so no surprises here.

Well I've been on Steam for a while and didn't know you can create a community. I know it has something that allows you to interact with others but it's more of a forum than a community. Also since when did steam have party chat and a proper activity feed?

500m people using an operating system. And only a fraction of 1 percent using the Windows 10 gaming store.

I think the conversation ends here pretty much if they're using that number and counting it.
