For all people who skipped PS3 and bouth PS4 and TLoU, TLoU was new game, same thing will be now with Switch and MK8D. So, yes, MK8D will definitely have effect on Switch sales, because its great and must have game.

It's not new though, even the mass market who didn't buy a Wii U know it's an old game. For a game to be a big system seller it needs to have hype, and MK8D isn't getting the hype of a new release because it isn't one.

To be fair to both of you, MK8:D isn't going to do much in-terms of hardware sales for the foreseeable future since supply is still not meeting the overall demand for the Switch.  Can't boost hardware sales significantly if the platform is already selling at close to sellout rates worldwide.

The "retro train"... that's what 3DS is for.

People want more ambitious games from the Switch, not a "retro chain."

Listen, I'm not arguing. I'm just pointing out that SFII fits better with a lot of other Switch games than SFIV would. You also have to remember that there ARE a lot of ambitious games coming, too.

But you're arguing. Its a poor choice because it makes poor use of the hardware and SFIV is much better.

Worst of all, its $40. It was $15 when it released on PS360.

The pricing is a bad decision, I agree. But the game itself still goes well with other Switch games. I still see no reason why Street Fighter needs to show the hardware's capabilitys when other games don't. This will not be the game to show to your friends and brag how technically brilliant this is, instead you show it and invite them to get their ass kicked.

Also, why SFIV, anyway? Why not SFV?

Are you actually read what I wrote!? Of Course it's not new game, but for people who didn't had Wii U it will be new game. Part of mass market didn't know that Wii U even existed or what exatly games had, Wii U is worst selling and least popular Nintendo console in history. You can bet that lotsa people (current or future Switch owners who didn't had Wii U) are pretty hyped about MK8D, and yes for people who didnt had Wii U, MK8D will be seller, like I wrote, watch of MC figures when MK8D is launched.

Yes, It will hardly to see what effect MK8D will have on Switch sales because supply is still not meeting the overall demand, but MK8D will definitely lead to even more demand for Switch among people who didnt had Wii U.

I will pick street fighter for sure
I think it will sell OK, but it may not win NPD, & WIIU will not rise from it's grave, Zelda was it's last offering (what a game)

Funny because it sold 2.5m in one month according to data so far and is still sold out something that says a 300 quid portable is perfectly fine and it won't be that price forever either, I still remember many people last year thinking launch wouldn't do so well being outside of the holiday season and so far that has received a hard answer and it has yet to have a holiday period and this is before the likes of Pokemon, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Smash etc...

I'll give you a prediction for 2020, 40m twice your own.

After your first paragraph, I was expecting you to state 100M or more. What's the matter? 2.5M in 1 month, possibility to capture the handheld market (80M last generation), great titles yet to be launched...Just 40M in 4 years?

I don't feel my prediction is an absurd anymore.

2020 is in 3 years and your reply doesn't really make sense in expecting people to say 100m especially in 3 years. I expect NS to hit 80m at the end of it's life being the only portable as Nintendo will keep it active for at least 6-7 years like the 3DS.

So where is all this MK8D hype? It's barely even being talked about, much less hyped.
